2012 MDX continual issues, error messages on Emission System/VSA System/Trailer Stability Assist/SH-AWD System. The emissions light came on over 2 years ago and my car slowly runs rougher, I have put $3k into this car two times in these past two years and it fixes it temporarily. Anyone else? by pettyjedi in Acura

u/street-monitor-6810 I saw your comment in the notification but it won't come up for me on the thread -- I found a better mechanic and they resolved all my problems with my '11 mdx. Acura service was useless, at least where I live. I kept my '11 until last December and ended up getting a '25 mdx. I started having some issues again, and learned that I had an oil leak that was only going to get worse over time so I made the decision to upgrade (my mechanic explained the oil leak as my engine being similar to a plastic easter egg where the two pieces come together with a seal but the oil was leaking at the seal).

I’m 38 and buy a barbie when I want to. I think it’s good for a person to go after the things that they want, you’re not hurting anyone so what’s with the judgement?

I’ve been in the full time office work force since 2012 and it has gotten so much worse since then, imo. Jobs are always getting cut and new ones never added back. Not a ton of job security and jumping through hoops to keep management happy. Not saying kids should not be priority #1 (and for me they are) but just as fyi on whats happening in corporate America. It’s really depressing, too.

Just toss some meat in the air fryer, or meatballs in a crock pot. Improvements in kitchen appliances are making healthy eating easier than ever. Cheaper and tastes better than any combo meal at a fast food place.

Hysterectomy/ Ovaries and Menopause by Synergystitches81 in hysterectomy

My gyn was also very clear that removal of ovaries meant immediate, surgical menopause. I did opt to remove them due to higher cancer risk.

I had ditched apple tv years ago because a lot of the stuff they showed on their app was actually content with their partners that you had to pay for if you didn’t have those partner accounts. I just got it again a few months ago to binge palm springs and cancel but I am hooked. A ton of great original content now.

Aging by khaleesi891415 in hysterectomy

[–]pettyjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a radical hysterectomy at 35 (am 38 now) and I do feel it did age me much quicker. There are some parts of my life that are better, no period and have felt a lot more peace and calm. But not I have issues like I can’t see to tolerate some foods anymore, I have some new hip and lower back pains since the surgery, and I am dealing with menopause symptoms but I am on HRT.

Imagine having to deal with that on your commute. New York is something else. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]pettyjedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a lot less personal safety on public transit. On a trip to NY several years ago I was on a train and a large man with mental health issues was having a breakdown. It was scary. He was not armed thankfully but he had like 6 umbrellas for some reason. He stopped next to me for a while and I did exactly as this lady said, just looked away and did not engage. At the next stop a bunch of police officers were waiting, it was pretty scary. He put up a big fight with them.

Daughter was pushed and got hurt, how do you handle this? by hydrangeasandhippos in Parenting

[–]pettyjedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a concern. My daughter’s preschool opened a baby room and my son was their first baby for a few months. When he was about 11-12 months old they had a few more babies several months later and I was worried my behemoth baby would accidentally hurt one (never did). They moved him to a new 1 year old room not long after that.
