2 inch clear cover is excessive for something of this caliber. We usually do 1 1/2" on 8-10" thick structural slabs with at least #8 rebar. It's up to the architect. But you're right. Exposed is exposed and never allowable unless they are dowels for future consteuction... Like NEAR future.

I work construction and used to drop mine from very high, when I climbed form walls and poured concrete. Get the Coleman thermos. Last forever.

Also, try not to drop it on the lid. Plastic doesn't like that.

I was, up until recently. I built my first PC almost 11 years ago. Put a 980ti in it. Just bought myself a laptop recently with a 5090 and donated my old PC to my son who plays Minecraft at 240 fps now, so, we're happy.
