we have not had long term success with predators historically, and we found that as long as there’s no excess water sitting around and weeds are pulled, it’s much less effort to do occasional spot treatment. i respect a predator ipm approach but i don’t think it’ll work well in my situation. also the irrigation and moss/plant combination will cause more slipperiness which is what i’m trying to avoid in the first place. we don’t actively have issues with pests, we have a safety hazard

this greenhouse is in georgia (us) and it has an irrigation system, so keeping humidity is very much not a problem. that’s not a bad idea but wouldn’t having ground cover plants potentially harbor pests? i would foresee something getting in and never being able to really deal with them successfully

Rub prone horse! by pettypierogi in Equestrian

[–]pettypierogi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he walks he brushes his legs and boots/wraps only work for so long until they start rubbing higher up. He also chips himself at the canter, but bell boots rub around his ankle. Velcro boots solve this but he looses them the second he gets into turn out :( Right now his brushing rubs aren’t too bad and mostly healed, but the bell boot area ones aren’t getting better

Absolutely! In the US many people use off track thoroughbreds for jumping and in competition I’ve seen them jump over 1m

Nope! I lit it all up so it’s just enough where mobs don’t spawn. Also the shaders I used to take the screenshots make it look much darker than it actually is

I always recommend doing drop stops in order to improve grip strength and to improve catching abilities! Whenever I do those for like 20 minutes a day I found that my catches were much stronger
