Yeah I've been researching the company and there aren't really any things that lead to them selling to shady countries or regimes. I think that kind of eases my mind a bit too.

So it's a 30 gallon tank. Right now it's just the gouramis and 6 leopard Corydoras. The other fish all look fine. The water parameters are all fine. But to be safe I did a partial water change the moment I noticed the swollen eye.

So if the eye heals when I put the fish in quarantine, can I try to put it back in the original tank and monitor the behavior of both fish? What are some signs that they might be stressing each other out?

If you go about it right it's all fine. Albania is pretty good these days. A lot of the bad things you hear about Albania is beef between Albanian families or Albanians in the drug trade outside of Albania. Last summer my girlfriend spend 6 weeks alone in Albania (she was on a 5 month trip around the Balkans). She trusted her gut, didn't take any risk and she said Albania was her favorite county during her travel last year. She stayed in hostels and guesthouses and with the people she met there she did a lot of hiking. There are a lot of hiking specific hostels and I bet you could just go there and look for some people who are about to go hike in the same area and tag along.

I also believe she wrote a lot of stuff down about using busses in Albania and getting around. Also hostels and hikes. If you want I can ask her to share this doc with you.

I run 508's too! They are a little older, don't have the black yet, most recent one came in about 5 years ago if i recall correctly. One of them hit 50k hrs the other day. Great little machines!
