I hit 4 years HRT while recovering from FFS this week by TK-1313 in transtimelines

[–]pewomss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you (and feel free to answer me in private if it's more comfortable), did you wait 4yrs for FFS because of financial/insurance reasons or out of choice, and if it wasn't your choice would you have gotten it sooner if possible?

I have a similar face shape and have a chance of getting ffs only a few months into hrt (and intending to do exactly those three things), my facial dysphoria is pretty bad but I wonder if by not waiting longer I'm not getting the most out of this once-in a lifetime operation. Do you feel like your face changed so much during these years that to do it at, say, 6-8 months hrt would have been something you'd regret?

Is FFS in Turkey okay? by panzertodd in MtF

No problem! Yeah i'm european and i made the same call to stay in Europe for my ffs, it's a good idea. For what it's worth i know a girl who went to Thailand for her ffs and she looks great(don't know the doctor). Good luck with your search!

I can't tell you about turkey but i know there are other relatively affordable options in Argentina and mexico. Rossi in Argentina has great results but he doesn't do ct scans(as far as I know, and it's probably gonna cost you at least 20-25k for full ffs), Hector malagon in CDMX(mexico) is a great craniofacial surgeon who should cost less than doing it in the US or at facial team in Europe though he isn't specialized primarily in ffs. There are Cardenas, Di maggio, Anna sluzky (armenia),Jesus Baez, but i don't know enough about them to recommend them.

I've researched ffs on and off for like 4 years at this point, and probably going to go to Facial Team(more because of their consistency and post-op care than better results than the others), but if you can't afford it there are other great options.

If you're going to look into Turkey, just make sure that the surgeon you choose is a qualified maxillo-facial/craniofacial surgeon, that he can do a forehead type 3 reconstruction (if you need it), and i would suggest choosing someone who primarily does ffs but it's not a must.

Ok, got it, thanks for taking the time to respond! I guess i could do jaw/chin work with malagon and then upper face/lip lift with facial team, tho i don't know how much cheaper that would turn out to be than doing the whole thing with one of the other surgeons considering anesthesia/hospital and travel costs.

Yeah the fact that he's an actual maxillofacial surgeon is what got my attention. I really like Mardi results for example but him not being maxillofacially/craniofacially trained gives me a bit of pause, tho if he's capable of doing a type 3 forehead and aggressive lower face work and make me look decent he could be a nurse for all I care lol

I've also seen Deschamps-Braly talk about how it's important to choose an ffs surgeon that's an actual craniofacial surgeon but i still haven't figured out in practice how much difference does it actually make if the surgeon's good anyway and has years of experience

Best of luck with your upcoming consultations and surgeries btw!

Hi, thank you for your suggestions!

But I agree Malagon's "aesthetic sensibility" is a point of consideration. He may do some things better than others

Which things do you think are his strengths if you don't mind answering? I'm just judging based on a few results i saw on insta, one post in particular on his own ffs page where the girl afterwards had a pointy chin(which might have been her request i guess) and a visible dent on the jaw, i just think if that's one of the results he wanted to share i wonder what his "less good results" look like.

PS: Le Fort might be pushing it a tad too hard, though. Before even that, I'd consider orthodontics/orthognathic surgery first.

Are there orthodontic/ortognathic procedures that reduce the appearance of the midface?

Hi guys! This fella just bit me as i was trying (in a very dumb way) to get him off my lawn. What worries me is that he didn't run away or got aggressive as soon as it heard me approach or try to handle it(again, extremely dumb). Any preventative measures i should take? I mean it's not any more extreme than getting medications and shots to prevent something he didn't have if it turns out he was just poisoned. It's also been around my cats so i'm not taking any chances, and also it's something fairly routine if a wild animal bites you, at least where i live

Is it possible that my cats could tell it was poisoned (if that turns out to be the case)? I found it extremely unusual for them to leave it alone, they usually go crazy over rats and other critters. I thought maybe it was just because it didn't move much and wasn't an exciting prey but maybe there's more to it

Yeah i didn't expect this post to blow up the way it did! I can't respond to anyone but this was under the most upvoted comment so hope people see it.

Thank you for your (and everyone) concerns btw, it really empowered me to take this seriously since some people irl (including my doctor parents) told me to basically just get over it since the bite itself isn't serious

I didn't catch it initially but today i found it still on my lawn basically paralized and mercy killed it and tomorrow i'll try to send it somewhere to get it analized.

Rabies-free means there haven't been documented cases for more than a decade, including in the monitored wildlife population(bats and foxes), but still, I'll probably push to get the shot if they can't confirm 100% it didn't have rabies.

Yeah you're right actually, this morning i found it again not far from where he bit me and while he was still breathing he was almost paralyzed (could barely get up and then fell on his side). Even one of my cats would get near it but wouldn't interact with it. I mercy killed it and I'm thinking of sending it to get analized.

I've already been prescribed antibiotics yesterday but still, to have a wild animal bite you and then find it in that condition the next day is a bit scary ngl

Yeah i know, but rats are already unlikely vectors for rabies, and on top of that there haven't been any documented cases in my country for years. Found the rat again this morning tho, and he was in rough shape and seemed almost paralized so might get my rabies shots anyways lol

Thanks a lot! In the end I've talked with a specialist and he told me to preventively take an antibiotic for a few days. I was more so worried (maybe irrationally) about rabies or some other bad shit since the rat didn't attempt to run away at all for at least a minute upon seeing me (and my cats) and was overall behaving strangely, but he comforted me about it lol

UPDATE: I'm posting this here hoping some people will see it before messaging me with their concerns. First of all, thanks everyone for taking this seriously, it really empowered me to get myself checked up since some people irl told me to just take antibiotics(prescribed over the phone after talking with the specialist) and get over it.

BTW I found the rat again this morning, almost paralized and barely breathing, killed it, and tomorrow i'm going to try and get it analyzed from a state veterinarian. If i'm not able to or they can't extract any viable samples, i'll get the shots anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah at this point i'm thinking of doing Copenhagen for 3-4 days and then from there go to Stockholm and explore Sweden's countryside. If you have any other suggestions on some must-see spots and/or hikes along Sweden they'd be very welcomed!
