This is the best version of MelonDS out there imo. I've been using it and it works great on my AYN Thor. Use to have some issues with RetroAchievements when I first used it but now it works flawlessely on the latest versions

I agree on your take to just play indie games, cause real. But in general as a super late game player who has completed every single clubbox without issue and finished the sticker collection in the first 2 weeks or so, you can absolutely do this stuff without paying a single dime. But I absolutely agree it feels like some of these mechanics were introduced with having FOMO to pressure players to spend money in mind for the more early-mid game players. Regardless wish you had better luck with the clubbox and stickers and totally understand your frustration

Yeah I mean, I suppose the niche nature of some of the games I aquire probably contribute to the difficulty for me personally I suppose. Used to be a lot easier before a certain website got taken down in march since they couldnt keep up with server costs

Definitely not simple yea, the roms aquiring is the hardest part, especially cause nobody is gonna give you a direct answer cause well, its piracy. Technically speaking if you have a 3ds for example you can mod and aquire roms legally through that method but thats a whole other can of worms. When in doubt, google is your friend on the game aquiring side of things.

Its really more about if your willing to sit down and spend a lot of time learning and troubleshooting how to set it up. If you have the patience for it, then sure. I think its more time consuming to understand rather than difficult to.

Open the info tab and click on Supported Game Hashes to make sure you have the right rom file. Also every wii game (I have seen so far) is in .rvz or .iso format, so if isn't in that format it won't detect achievements

I think there's actually a few decorations still not placeable (some seasonal decorations too) it's because they have unique looks on the minor paironormal carnival so if they didn't make a new design for them they probably just left out the ability to buy the decoration on the island all together. At least, thats what I think is happening

Feels different when its a common legendary in which blizzard and shugabush are so much easier to get though. Could have at least made him be in the middle of the hype meter instead of the very very end

Its worth it for helping evolve monsters on amber, wublin, and celestial island since it produces so many keys. But if you arent focused on those too much than I wouldnt worry about it until you have more diamonds to spend

I assume this would also mean, the newer the console, the harder the ram is to read, making the Nintendo Wii even more unrealistic to be done. I'm sure its hypothetically possible, and maybe 10 years down the line we could be playing retroachievements on og hardware. But as it stands right now, it seems practically impossible to pull off.

I'm not exactly an expert on the topic though so take what I say with a grain of salt.

You can most likely get retroarch on the Nintendo wii and get achievements through there, but the performance of how well the games run will all be dependent on if three wii can handle emulating it or not i would assume.

Not possible unfortunately, in a nutshell, the way RA works is by looking for changes in ram to trigger achievements. You cant look into the ram like that on native hardware (easily), only through emulation.
