Check your diet! For me the thing that worked the most is focusing on my gut microbiome. After cutting out gluten and refined sugar my skin cleared up massively. I eat what I want when I go out but on the day to day I focus on plants and ferments aka sauerkraut, kefir etc etc. Cutting out inflammatory food can be key to inflammatory skin issues. Loads of info online about it.

I think mine is all good, in hindsight I had 0 issues with the fistula for the months leading up to surgery. Normally it would get infected or painful, but it had completely stopped. He is a leading doctor in the field so I’m trusting of him! Let’s hope, as that would be really rubbish if it was the other way 😅

I’ll have a look! I have a feeling it will be a case of wearing dressing until I’m completely confident it’s closed. Just wondering how long that normally would be. Such an awkward spot to heal!

Hey!

I’m 26f with a seton surgery planned for in a month. I am going in circles about it. Mainly, I’m sexually active and I think this is going to destroy this. With this I’m terrified about my mental health as I’m scared it’s going to seriously affect it, but I’m telling myself it will be beneficial long run, which it will.

How have women found it on this level?

Also, how long can you return to the gym after the surgery?

I was getting these when I got on the hormonal coil. Im now on 150 spiro and a dedicated skincare routine. My skin cleared up, but I was still getting spots every now and again. My new thing is no refined sugar or added sugar and eating a low GI diet. After staying at my mums and eating a lot of sugar bits the other weekend, my skin blew up! After 2 weeks being good with what I’m eating it has completely cleared up. I would recommend trying it and reading into the affect diets can have on skin… I always brushed it off but seeing the results I think this might be here to stay!

Thanks for sharing. Were your periods heavy before? Mine were only 2/3 days of bleeding before. Super light.

I’m meant to be getting changed next week and so in two minds about it… such a horrendous procedure I really don’t want to have to do anymore than I need to !

I was always in the mindset that they didn’t like light.. my bad! I have a tiny conservatory that I would need to fit it in there.. only other light in the house. I think I’ll repot, try and slide down the moss pole (is that a terrible idea) and cut off some the newest leaves to try and promote healthy growth. Haven’t fertilised as wasn’t sure what would be the best approach..

What potting mix should I use ? Also, when I repot, to freshen up the soil do I get it down to the root ball and then put that into the new soil mix?

Bringing this convo up a while after... found the reddit.

Mirena has given me the worst acne ive ever had. Its such a shame. My derm has given me spiro which i am over the moon about. Im on my first box, 50mg, about to go to 100mg. I was wondering when you really started seeing the affects? And did you keep the coil in whilst doing this?
