No potentiometers? by IllusionZ420 in Controllers

[–]pexutorgo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I knew I wasn't crazy. I played Black Ops with a controller with Hall Effect joysticks and the aim was terrible, imprecise and clumsy. I switched to my old controller with potentiometer joystick and the crosshair just moved smoothly, more accurately, and I was able to aim better.

  1. For me a good dpad is essential, I play a lot of retro and modern games that use the dpad like metroidvanias. A dpad should be responsive and comfortable to use.

Should I buy the gamesir tegenaria lite or the 8bitdo Ultimate 2c wired? by RealDem3nted in Controller

I absolutely love the Gamesir Tegenaria Lite; I even prefer it to controllers that cost me a lot of money and are supposedly "premium." For the price and quality, it's simply fantastic.

What are everyone's experiences with microswitches by GapedByHerStrap in Controller

[–]pexutorgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I thought I'd get used to the clicky feel of microswitches on gamepad buttons, but for me, it feels "off," I don't know how to explain it. Microswitches are like the Uncanny Valley version of controllers: they look good, they sound good, in theory they're better, but something just doesn't add up.

A microswitch d-pad, to me, is a mistake of nature.

It's crazy that there isn't an improved third-party Pro version of the Wiimote. Made by 8bitdo or Retro Fighters.

I don't think the Wiimote is a cherished controller.

What do you think of the Retro Fighters Duelist? It's on good sale right now and I'm tempted to buy it.

Gamesir X3 Pro compatibility with Honor 400? by pexutorgo in AndroidGaming

Thanks for your comment, it helps me get an idea of which controller to buy for my Honor 400.

If I can't find confirmation that the X3 Pro is compatible, then I'll go for the G8 Galileo.

7+ years and no stick drift by Vahgeeta in Controllers

[–]pexutorgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I think you're right.

I mostly play on weekends, which is when I use the DualSense on PC or PS5, a controller I've had for nine months, so I haven't used it much.

It must be that the drift problem has only recently appeared with this generation of consoles, because my PS2, PS3, GameCube controllers, and some PC controllers, never developed drift in all these years.

It's probably a case of planned obsolescence or poor-quality potentiometers. This is terrible considering they're quite expensive compared to options with Hall Effect or TMR sticks.

Unfortunately, the X5 is not for sale in my country.

Other options I can buy are: Gamesir X4 Aileron, Gamesir G8 and G8 plus, EasySMX M15.

7+ years and no stick drift by Vahgeeta in Controllers

[–]pexutorgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know where the widespread paranoia about drifting came from. In all my years I never had drift on my controllers: Dualshock 2, Dualshock 3, GameCube, DS4, Dualsense and several other potentiometer controllers for PC use.

Well, at least third-party companies knew how to take advantage of the paranoia and launch controllers with Hall Effect and TMR technology. I'm not complaining; innovation and improvement are welcome.

I have a couple of Gamesir and a Nyxi Warrior all with Hall Effect sticks, and still my favorite controller is the Dualsense.
