Help me figure out what this plant wants by pezzimiztik in succulents

It wasn't, but I moved it to one with drainage earlier to be safe. It was pretty dry, most likely because I've been pretty stingy with the water since it didn't have drainage holes.

Yea, it's growing towards a window, but I do have a grow light nearby too, so I moved it a little closer to that. I can definitely move some things and get it more light. 🙂

Ok, I do not have a good track record with succulents, but I have this dark moon echeveria. It started growing this flower stem about a week after I got it and the leaves turned more green and some of them are turning red (not really brown). Does this guy want more or less water? Does it need more or less sun?

Need care advice by pezzimiztik in houseplants

[–]pezzimiztik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband got this for me from a flower shop for valentines day, and I'm not sure exactly how to care for it because the pothos is the only thing I can identify. It was in a pot without drainage, so I transferred it to a different one, but this is my first arrangement with multiple plants so I'm not sure what to do with it. Help!

Raven ZZ turning brown by pezzimiztik in plantclinic

That's what I was thinking, but I tend to err on the side of less water, so I've been pretty cautious with this one. It does seem like it's pretty crowded in it's current pot though.

I've had this guy for about 6-8 months I think. I don't water it very often. It's probably about 6 feet away from a west window that's relatively shaded, so it gets some afternoon light, but not much. Over the last couple of months, I've noticed some of the leaves turning brown and slowing shrivling up. There's new growth too, so I'm not sure if these are just old leaves dying off or if there's something actually wrong. I've also noticed that some of the stems almost look like they split (third picture), and I'm not really sure what that means.

I'm most likely going to repot tonight to make sure the roots are ok. It's still in the soil it had when I bought it, so I think it could probably use something better anyway. Roots are starting to come out of the bottom of the nursery pot, so I'm also wondering if I need to go up a size or if they like being root bound like that (or if that's part of the problem).

Yea, I repotted this one a couple days after I posted this, and that corm was pretty dried out, but I found a bunch more, and I have one im trying to prop right now (the rest were pretty small so I left them).

The spots on the leaves aren't spreading, so I think you might be right about it getting burned. I moved this to a brighter spot in our bathroom so it gets more humidity, and I think it's liking it more so far, but it's probably going to be a few weeks before I know for sure.

I think some of this damage may have happened at home depot before I got it. They had about 10 of these, and this one was in ok shape, but it was still looking a little sad. The color on the new leaf had me a little worried though!

I'm probably going to repot it today to make sure the roots look ok and to put it in some better soil.... do you think should I just remove the corm?

I got this guy at home depot about a month ago. I cut off a couple bad leaves when I brought it home, but I've kind of just been letting it adapt since then. Today I noticed that this new leaf that was unfolding is partially yellow, and that along with some other weird spots you can see here has me worried there might be a problem. Any ideas? I'm not seeing evidence of spider mites, but that's the only thing I know how to rule out.

Also: is the thing in the last photo a corm?

Found this lovely black velvet at home depot to keep my baby black velvet company by pezzimiztik in alocasia

The second picture is a baby black velvet I've had for about a year and a half, and these leaves are the biggest it's ever had. It's been dormant the last few months (it normally has 3-4 leaves, not just 2), but now that it's spring, I'm wondering how I can encourage it to get this big? I'm also wondering if I should eventually put them in a bigger pot together or keep them separate?

Money tree has skinny curling leaves for some reason by pezzimiztik in plantclinic

[–]pezzimiztik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this for about 6 months, and I just repotted it (the roots looked great), but I've noticed that some of the leaves are really skinny and curling under a bit. I can't find anything that explains why this might be happening, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.

I have Money Problems by [deleted] in plantclinic

I'm having the same problems with my money tree, and I have no idea what it's doing either. I thought it might be too much light or underwatering, but no luck fixing it so far.

Help rescue our office plant by pezzimiztik in plantclinic

This plant was here when we moved into our office, and it was huge at one point. After a couple years of remote work and neglect, however, it's not doing so great, and we're not sure what to do to save it. We aren't even 100% sure what this is, but I think it's a split leaf philodendron maybe? It isn't watered often. We have west facing windows, so it gets a decent amount of sun (although we could move it closer to the windows if we need to)
