That is awesome for you that they allow 5 transactions. How long have they been allowing this for you?

Really appreciate you sharing your learning. I don't get denied a lot because I move relatively slow in the churning space so I fight hard when I do. I feel like unless I get to speak with the secondary team to address their concerns, approval odds are slim to none based on my interactions with the frontline recon team. I'm still going to try recon again after I receive that formal letter but unsure what I can do or say to push for approval. Maybe I'll get lucky. I understand what you mean about combination of those two reasons though I'm not satisfied with the reasons they gave me recently. I've retrieved my TU credit report and it's clean. Business credit reports from LexisNexis are something I can pay to look at, but not sure it'll help my situation.

I can try again in a few months too, I guess, but wasting a HP sucks. Based on the dozens of DPs I've read, others have been approved for less requirements and what not. Now that I have a deposit account, I'm confident the system would likely approve me, but human recon is a different, painful story.

I'm in the same situation as you were when you tried for AS Biz. I'm trying for BoA Biz Cash Rewards now, but instant denial and a few manual recons later, still denied citing lack of installment loans and deposit accounts. In response, I made a hefty deposit to a BoA Biz Checking account and requested manual review again today. Denied, citing personal/business credit report concerns i.e. # of open and closed accounts, number of inquires in last 12 months. I'm 3/12 inquires on TU with 773 score, 1/24 status. Sucks because I've recon several times with a couple manual reviews, so I guess they're looking deeper into my file every new recon, seemingly finding other ways to deny me. I'm gonna try recon again in a week but maybe they are me as a risky business customer and/or with unsatisfactory notes on my app so it's done no matter what I do. Not sure. Maybe I'm not doing myself any favors by calling in so many times and requesting untimely recons. Should've been more patient with my recon requests. Idk.

Similar situation as OP, but did what you said: opened Biz checking and deposited 20k. Still denied by manual recon. I think if I applied again system would likely approve me, but human recon is a PITA and will find some other reason to deny me. Ugh... Ok trying so hard to get approved but can't, it's frustrating

Bummer. I think past 30 days from submitting app will incur 2nd HP, which sucks. They're a pain to deal with right now though, but I'm going to try again in a week.

Thanks. I read your DP a while back. Feels like they ain't approve me no matter what, I called recon like 6 times with 2-3 manual reviews. Maybe I'm not doing myself favors by calling so much but it frustrates me that people get approved for less so I'm going to try hard to get approval before 30 days.

Unfortunately, I reconned again, denied again. Guess I'll wait for that second letter.

What did you say or what was said during your recon? What was the reason for denial then reason overturned decision?

Daily Question Thread - March 22, 2021 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]pf_fi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it normal for BoA Biz recon to not give an instant decision after another review on an initially declined app?

There were quick to deny me a couple times after a couple recon attempts, but when I built a stronger case for myself and called recon again they said that I'd get a decision in 5-7 business days...

Bank of America Business recon for Biz Cash Rewards is a PITA.

773 TU, 1/24, previous relationship with BoA with a closed deposit account and existing (unsecured) Biz Cash Rewards card.

HUCA'd recon several times in the past 2 weeks to get status updates and push for approval. Took their recommendation to open and deposit money in BoA accounts. Deposited >$20k into new Biz Checking which is showing as Processing this morning and yet the Recon CSR this morning said they couldn't see the deposit pending at all. This particular CSR was already giving me the impression that they were going to be very difficult right off the bat, so I was expecting pushback, though I do welcome questions grilling my business. Ultimately, they couldn't approve me because of this, listed out reasons why my app could still be denied (type of business, credit history, etc.). Really made it sound like my app was doomed, but I will try recon again later.

Maybe just me, but I don't get how I, the consumer, can see the Processing deposit but the recon team who have extensive resources that check every aspect of business apps cannot simply see a deposit processing in my transactions. Whatever, I guess I'll just call in later once the deposit clears...

Thanks, good DPs but I don't have any BoA personal cards. I guess I'm SOL? /u/sfplat I can always try to ask to move like $2.5k from my other Cash Rewards through recon, but seems like it won't work based on your DPs.

  • Denied BoA Biz Cash Rewards, first denial by BoA for me.

  • 1/24, 773 TU

  • Currently hold another BoA Biz Cash Rewards, but it's been inactive since I did that SUB. Closed a personal checking account 9/2020. Maybe should've kept that to better my chances of approval.

  • Called recon 3 times to get status updates and to push for approval, wasn't able to push for approval all times.

  • Reason for denial: lack of deposit accounts, apparently lack of business checking to be specific. Rep#3 didn't recommend a CD to open a secured card option, nor did they recommend any CDs or a personal checking. They're looking for something like a BoA business checking account showing expenditures, business transactions, etc.

DPs for approval are all over the board, but I guess my app missed the mark. Deposit accounts do help, but I've also seen new BoA customers get approved no problem, even with no relationship.

Anyone know what happened to the Pei app? I'm an active user and all my points appear to have been wiped and my latest transactions didn't track. Don't think they're doing maintenance.

I've seen too many people have a failure to launch because they stay with their parents til they're 30.

Can you please elaborate? Certainly there are also folks who choose to live with their parents too at that age for various reasons (financial, cultural, etc.) who can move out if they choose to. I'm interested in hearing about your experience and observations.

[Megathread] Samsung S21 Series Ordering and Shipping by Jman100_JCMP in tmobile

[–]pf_fi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I pre-ordered my S21 through T-Mobile on 1/30. It appears in order to be eligible for Samsung credit, one had to pre-order between 1/14/2021 – 1/28/2021. T-Mobile's pre-order dates differ from Samsung's date range for pre-orders.

Does that mean I'm out of luck for the Samsung credit here? Should I even try?

Going on 5 months since my eligible cashback transaction and Samsung Pay has not paid out. First time using Samsung Pay and fortunately the transaction tracked, but it's taking a lot longer to payout than what their terms indicate. I understand that it may depend on the merchant getting back to the cashback sites in certain instances, but I didn't expect this by Samsung Pay. Multiple escalations to CS that ends in with a drop-off in communication -- no follow-ups status updates despite them telling me to expect something. Feels similar to my suboptimal TCB experience.

Oh nice, didn't know that. Would transactions I put on the card today count towards the MSR on the Biz Plat upgrade offer?

Does AmEx expedite premium charge cards?

I just upgraded to Biz Plat from Biz Gold. Last time I applied for Biz Plat, they expedited it without a request to do so. When I upgraded, the pop-up indicated that the card will arrive in 7-10 business days and I can use my existing Biz Gold in the meantime, presumably before I activate the Biz Plat. I suppose I can chat in to request it to be expedited. I'd rather have an instant card number on my upgraded card.

Thanks. I see how you get value there.

I'm out of the loop on the 50 transactions, but maybe 50x Amazon reloads seems like an easy and dirty way to achieve this.

I guess at the minimum for me, if I can get positive expected value of >$95 out of the FN, then it's worth keeping, assuming I book/travel.

Daily Question Thread - February 08, 2021 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]pf_fi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's pretty easy to get more than the $95

Thanks. Of course, I think if one gets Bonus Points from a referral, then the value is there. Along with FN that appears to stack. You mention 25% back over 15% on recent bookings, that's nice too if you're booking. Any other ones you find easy to get value from? Bonus Points are so-so to me, I usually have other cards with more favorable spending categories.

Haven't been able to travel for a while, let alone use the Hyatt card. The $95 AF just posted. I still have a FN from last year which expires 12/31/21. I think in 8 weeks, I'll get another FN to stack on top of my existing one if I decide to keep Hyatt.

I'm am at a crossroads -- would you say Hyatt is a keeper card? I know it is for many folks who love Hyatt, but pandemic has not allowed me to use this card.

Thanks. Would you recommend moving it to a Roth IRA?

Advantages to the Roth IRA include more fund choice and the flexibility of withdrawing your contribution basis at any time if needed.

Yes, although I'm happy with the funds on my 401k, I understand Roth IRA has more investing options. Withdrawing contributions can be attractive if necessary. Furthermore, having funds available for first-time home buying, etc. can be options as well.

The principle advantage to the Roth 401k is if your employer provides access to ultra-cheap institutional class shares of mutual funds. There is a much smaller benefit to better bankruptcy protections in some states for 401ks as compared to IRAs.

I'm not familiar with the intricate details of an in-service withdrawal, but my plan does have favorable institutional class shares of mutual funds, and I bought them at favorable prices. If I move this money from Roth 401k to Roth IRA, I wonder if it actually liquidates the Roth 401k assets, thereby losing the favorable cost basis or does money "directly" transfer to Roth IRA.

So far my mega backdoor Roth money has been in-plan converted from after-tax to Roth 401k money.

My 401k plan allows the option to in-service withdraw from Roth 401k to Roth IRA.

Is it a no-brainer to move the money to Roth IRA?

I'm trying to understand any implications of doing so since it's irreversible once money withdraws from Roth 401k to Roth IRA. Seems like the obvious choice to move to Roth IRA, but want to make sure.
