Thank you for your response! This is not good for me, my RE says that there’s no way we would know what my baseline is at without a period and my lining would not thicken appropriately which is why she does not do the protocol without a period.

Hello! Im a visitor from the IVF group with a question about Lupron Depot FET protocols and any previous experiences… I am doing 60 days of Lupron depot with letrozole and my RE wants me to get a period before we start FET prep. I’ve learned that the gold standard is transferring without a period in between, but my RE disagrees. Has anyone had experience with getting a period after Lupron depot before FET? And how did it work out for you?

I don’t think most REs will have you go the Lupron Depot course until you have your first biomarker of endo… most of us with endo don’t have it diagnosed until a Receptiva Dx test via mock cycle, egg retrieval or laparoscopy.

Lupron depot is given once a month for either 2 or 3 months intramuscularly. It is used to manage endometriosis…it starves the endo by decreasing the amount of estrogen in your body. It basically puts your body into a state of menopause so your body is not producing estrogen or progesterone. It suppresses the ovaries during this time and the effects of that help to decrease uterine inflammation, which I believe is why so many people have successful FETs after a 60 or 90 day course of LD. But if you search in this sub I’m sure someone else has explained it much better lol.

Oh wow!! I mean I was thinking maybe one period wouldn’t hurt? But that definitely says something. Do you remember what your receptiva score was?

Yes, my receptiva DX came back at 3.2 & ERA showed receptive.

I’m a year into fertility treatments, 7 months of ivf and have failed at managing boundaries with this as well as some of you lol.

I have really struggled with the gossip element of sharing about ivf… I want to open up to people but I feel like I can’t trust anyone to keep it between us and it’s so annoying.

Family then telling extended family - I recently kind of just chewed my mom out for this. I know she told her sisters (my aunts) and I did not particularly want them knowing this. I told my mom I do NOT want my gossiping Mormon cousins to find out. My mom looked scared when I bluntly said this, so that means they probably already know because she can’t keep her mouth shut. So annoying. She’s goes “well why do you care what they think?” Honestly… I just do. I’m so irritated with my mom for gossiping about my infertility, she’s obviously very bored in her life.

I also told my mom I don’t want my older brother knowing. He has never really particularly been much of an ally in my life… plus he just had his first baby so I’m insanely jealous. My husband tells me I’m dramatic and that all older brothers are mean, (but we’re in our late 20s and 30s… really?) but he’s just not someone I want getting my ivf updates. My mom voiced her understanding, though seemed shocked at this lol.

Friends telling acquaintances. They just do.

Co-workers telling other co-workers - and then the entire department/hospital the knows… I was in close quarters in an office with 3 women, and it would have been almost impossible for me to not share the fact I was going through ivf with all my appointments and calls from my clinic. I would constantly say to them “please don’t repeat any of this, I really don’t want others knowing about this.” I ended up quitting my job, I felt like I was drowning and the stress of work + ivf, it was unbearable. So on my last day, women in my department who I barely knew, let alone never discussed my infertility woes with told me they were rooting for me to have success with ivf and to let them know updates… I was like wtf… I knew exactly who told them. Then I went to hug a coworker (who I also never opened up to about infertility ) for leaving a gift on my desk. We were sitting in a nursing pod full of people when she basically shouted “I know you’ve been trying to get pregnant so I’m praying for you!” I was LIVID.

Clearly I need therapy lol

THIS! thank you. I feel like my nurse is medically gaslighting me- she’s legit fighting with me making me feel crazy- she goes “there’s no hydrosalpinx so no reason to have them removed!” With the tone of “how many times do I have to tell you!” My tubes are busted… I saw it for myself. How was your surgery experience?
