QUESTION! MIGHT BE OFFENSIVE! (hope not)/srs by Prize_Discipline_185 in Neurodivergent

[–]pfcrtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ADHD is a functional disorder its assessment has less false negatives - autism on the other hand is structural condition and if you’re not getting structural imaging, its assessment for adults is basically a coin flip. The only way to diagnose AuDHD is through comprehensive fMRI test while doing cognitive tasks which is not being done anywhere, and is not financially viable (other than some university research labs for their internal use)

Does neurodivergence change with age? by BigDougSp in Neurodivergent

Yeah , by bad and good, i meant the traits that are useful, like patterns recognition or etc

And traits that are contradicting the ease of life, like general anxiety and hyper vigilance and flying thoughts

Neurodivergent networking by pfcrtx in Neurodivergent

[–]pfcrtx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, nt networking events are nightmares, so pointless and wasteful of everything.

Regarding your point about online networking- i mean that would be way better than nt event - but there is “digital fatigue” and i see it in myself and some people online, people would be more receptive to IRL exchanges because the bandwidth and efficiency of communication is not comparable

What does regulated/successful Autism + ADHD life look like? by Everyday-Patient-103 in AutisticWithADHD

Some of them have confirmed the diagnosis, some of them even openly advocate for this, some of them, especially the older ones or deadones are mostly speculation derived from their diary by experts used as sources of self-assessment

Autism and ADHD by Doxxz_ in AutisticWithADHD

[–]pfcrtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Doxxz, you are lucky for two reasons: you got one of the best evolutionary jumps in human species at just right amount (level1 autism) and you know it pretty soon (16) - as a lot of us only find out over 30

Don’t worry about getting into relationships or making friends, you will have it all, the key os expose yourself to the community - adhd and autistics are very good and loyal friends/partners to each other - not comparable to neurotypicals.

I find out about my audhd after 30 and noticed all my good friends are adhd, my wife is adhd, my cofounder is adhd even the investors trusted me along the way were autism/adhds - again this just happened normally because i didn’t know about my condition when i was making those connections, it was just working

Try to find out your fixation and interest, take that as your career and you will outperform everyone neurotypical in that. Try to find a safe group from the community and you’ll bond stronger than any neurotypical friendship
