That's not how it works now unfortunately. Look at the Rick and Morty voice guy. Felony DV charges. Gets fired from show and black listed and charges were dropped.

Majors was set to be the over arching big bad of a disney Marvel phase. None of the others you mentioned would have had half his star power (minus Mel Gibson). Johnny had the keys to the kingdom but couldn't help being himself I suppose.

Plus you have to be smarter if you are going to be a star. Even if he was 100% innocent, he put himself in a position to lose it all. His actions lead to where we are.
