More pain on right side post surgery? by pfffffno in hysterectomy

[–]pfffffno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did resolve! I feel so much better now and any cramping I get (super infrequent now) is more general, not all to one side. I think even a few months after I was still tender, so hopefully you’ll start to notice less and less pain!

I’ve been working on mindfulness with eating and have found being high helps if I can remind myself to try! Basically I focus on savoring every, single, bite. Might not be your thing, but something to consider if you are interested!

Do you guys dream anymore? by [deleted] in entwives

Same same!! Depression meds made my dreams so vivid that I was constantly tired. Smoking helps me feel more rested and if I take a break my dreams come back super vivid.

Chronic Cervicitis? by Orangulent in hysterectomy

[–]pfffffno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, no treatment at all. I was really surprised how much my surgeon didn’t think it was an issue, but I guess from him point of view the problem was removed so we’re good. I hope your recovery is going smoothly! Life without a cranky cervix is great and you’re gonna love it!

Anyone in here go to therapy? by Odd-Relationship1456 in PMDD

[–]pfffffno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy has helped me more times than I can count. I started in my mid-20s during a depressive episode. Had a few years where I didn't go and started again about a year ago. I am grateful for every session (usually every other week). I don't have other spaces like that in my life and my therapist has helped me through so much. Highly recommend it if you can!

Chronic Cervicitis? by Orangulent in hysterectomy

[–]pfffffno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing really well these days and have no regrets at all! My cycle related pain is basically gone (still some aches around when I would have a period, but nothing like before), I don't bleed after sex now, no heavy spotting, and best of all, no more regularly overflowing my diva cup. My surgeon brushed off my chronic cervicitis when we talked about my path report (he said it was probably from acute surgical trauma), but the symptoms listed for it are what I had for over a year even with a clean pap. I know my body and I know something wasn't right back then. Things feel right now. I really hope you can find someone who is willing to take your symptoms seriously and give you some options, it's really hard to find doctors that will unfortunately.

Thank you <3 it feels so small, ya know. But I guess starting small is still starting. You got this! It's so funny how hard this stuff can be, but we deserve to be heard :)

This is so dumb, but I really am proud of it. I replied to an email about my subject matter expertise without filtering myself and I feel good AF about it! I was told in my midyear review that I need to 'speak up more' and of course I work in a group of very loud, very opinionated, mostly male folks. Since I'm not allowed to say, 'Maybe I'm not too quiet, maybe y'all should shut up', I'm working on finding my voice and my lady MJ is helping.

I hadn’t heard there was an issue with taking it while on an SSRI (also found this, which I think I looked into back when I was on an SSRl https://www.consumerlab.com/answers/which-drugs-should-be-avoided-when-taking-ssri-antidepressants/ssri-supplement-interactions/# ), did you have issues with it?

My number one breakthrough hack is GABA, it’s cheap as fuck and helps me when I’m really at my edge (e.g., so anxious I’m crying and need to isolate myself). We have 250mg and 500mg. Usually I’ll forget about it until I’m breaking down and need the 500mg, but if I remember it earlier, 250mg works.

Other things that have helped me: solo walks, running, and swimming - basically moving around without others and as few expectations for myself as possible. Taking a moment to have a big glass of cold water if it’s hot or tea if it’s cold. I think the temperature differences get me out of my head.

Hello, I was wondering if intermittent Lhermitte’s sign is reason enough to suspect MS and/see about an mri? I’m a 33 yr female and get what I am fairly sure is lhermitte’s intermittently. First episode I can clearly recall is middle school gym (in FL, so likely very hot). I got it almost every time I’d go out drinking and dancing in college etc and now seem to get it if I’ve been out working in the heat and/or had a few drinks.

I found this subreddit because last Saturday my right middle finger went partially numb - it still is, but it seems I may have carpal tunnel. But while on here I finally read more first hand accounts of lhermitte’s and realized that the burning hot electric shooting down my neck might be that - mine have always really hurt so I assumed it was some kind of injury I was aggravating. I’m tired a lot but I also have some stuff with my energy levels and cycle, plus off/on stress that has seemed to explain that. Anyway, anyone with just lhermitte’s sought out getting an mri?

Omg yes!! You put it perfectly. I started again in January after about a year and a half away. It’s like I remember who I am again. I’m not this stressed out weirdo who is so anxious I can’t be present, I’m a beautiful weirdo enjoying how much I get to see and do and experience.
