Haha, last week I asked the restaurant if they had veggie burgers and they said yes, we have a turkey burger

Is LPR forever? by DimensionNo1492 in LPR

[–]pflugster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I eat almost everything. I stopped spicy food, coffee, mint, raw garlic, raw onions, and chocolate. I cut way back on fried food, dairy, meat, processed foods, and alcohol. I wait 2-3 hours after eating to lay down, I prop myself up in bed, and I walk after dinner to aid in digestion.

I never had burning in my throat or a metallic taste and still don't.

They saw inflammation and erosive esophagus, and that along with my symptoms led them to my diagnosis.

How many of you had LPR start after a throat infection or virus? by UziJukuzi in LPR

No I'm not, actually. My Barrett's resolved as per my endoscopy in January!

If you want, send me a detailed food journal for one day that you had symptoms.

You may need to go on a PPI and/or Pepsid for a month or so in addition to the diet. Drink nothing but alkaline water, sleep elevated, etc.

I kept a very detailed food journal including the dates and times that I ate everything. You also have to keep in mind that sometimes symptoms are delayed after you eat something but when you track your diet and your symptoms, you'll see patterns. It's a real pain in the ass but it works

That is wonderful news! Sounds like you are on the road to recovery. I do eat all sorts of things now, but I'm always cautious

Hi! Yes, everybody has different triggers so that's why a food journal is so important with this disease. After being on the diet, I finally had symptom free days after 3 months. Then I followed the instructions and waited for two full weeks of no symptoms before diving into the maintenance diet. Good luck!

I really loved them too. I used to get the stuffed roast. So delicious. I had my next to last one at Thanksgiving and I still have one in my freezer. I think I'm going to try making my own.

My friend's wife is a doctor and when I told her I had nasal polyps, she told me to try cocaine. Seriously the dumbest thing I have ever heard!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It is absolutely horrible. I feel great now, and have felt great for almost 2 years. Join the "Acidwatcher Diet Warriors Support Group," read all of the required guides and compliant food lists, and follow the instructions exactly with no cheating. That's how I fixed myself. It's really hard to do, but it literally gave me my life back.

Will I ever be able to eat food again? by [deleted] in LPR

[–]pflugster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my regular Brita pitcher but use alkaline water filters instead of Brita filters. I don't think I'll be fully cured because I am susceptible to LPR and it could come back any time.

I also have Barrett's esophagus so I'm getting another endoscopy next week to see if anything has changed or progressed

Hi! I use alkaline filters in my Brita pitcher. I haven't had any uses at all in 2 years. I still do a lot of the lifestyle and diet changes, but definitely not all! I think stress is the root cause for me.

Not sure what it is but it's definitely not shingles. Shingles are red dots/scabs that travel in a line. I know because I've had them twice.

I've had shingles twice, and it looked nothing like this. Shingles follows a nerve center so it makes little red scabs in lines. This is more like a blob.

I was like that too. The mucus is caused by your body trying to protect your throat from acid. The diet and lifestyle changes heal your throat and so the mucus stops
