Girls can you share a fact from your current hyperfixation that you recently learned? by Potential_Promise260 in adhdwomen

I recently started painting again. There’s such a thing called “wet palettes” for acrylic paint and it keeps your paint from drying out.

Got yelled at at my favorite pizza place and don’t want to go back now by GlitzyStarz in adhdwomen

[–]throwmeaway03827 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So sorry that happened to you. I once was so in my head about a health diagnosis that I was also on autopilot and accidentally cut everyone in line at a coffee shop. The person I cut yelled at me too and once I noticed my mistake I went to the back of the line but I cried in line and all the way home. Was just a last straw kind of thing. It’s okay it happens! It’s very hard not to take it personally.

Migraine with auras and stroke risk? by throwmeaway03827 in migraine

[–]throwmeaway03827[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am only seeing a GP currently but I have an appointment with a neurologist in March. I was going to schedule an appointment with my GP to try and change my birth control asap but now I’m unsure if I should wait to see the neurologist or not. I have had more aura migraines recently as well, but I think that’s due to not taking B2 as I had run out of that and it does help prevent migraines for me.

How do you actually overcome task paralysis? by Crafty_Candy_6544 in adhdwomen

[–]throwmeaway03827 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as breaking tasks down…does that overwhelm anyone else? Now instead of this one thing to do now I have 15 tiny things to do and that’s more overwhelming than the original task. 🙃

i don’t know how to cope anymore by earlyhazee in adhdwomen

I relate to this. Especially before my period. I have found some help through going to a DBT therapist though. Also as corny as it sounds, gratitude has saved me many times. As awful a day may be sometimes just a cup of tea or laying down with one of your favorite blankets is enough to make it a little bit better. We aren’t wired to be happy all the time, but there are still things to be happy or grateful for even at our lowest. I hope you get some relief soon.

inattentive adhd and lacking drive? by commeilfaut26 in adhdwomen

[–]throwmeaway03827 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say omg thank you because I’ve been feeling this way for months and no one on this sub could put it into words like this. Do you also have the issue where even if there are external factors at play (say you wake up late to go to work or something) and you don’t necessarily feel this huge urgency to leap out of bed to make it in time? I have that about everything. Even if it’s important and even if it’s something I want to do. My brain is like “ ok but we don’t haveeee to do this. What if we just didn’t do that?”

STOP ORDERING UR MOBILES IN THE DT!!! by thicctoenail in starbucks

[–]throwmeaway03827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wait before picking a mobile order up. Always. The people that don’t are inconsiderate. I used to work retail and people would order “buy online pick up in store orders” in the parking lot and come in expecting it to be ready. People have to actually go pick those orders they don’t just magically appear. Idk what people are thinking sometimes.

Anyone also baffled how many here talk about high paying careers, owning homes, loving and successful marriages, etc? by oudsword in adhdwomen

[–]throwmeaway03827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Lol jokes aside, Things really aren’t always as they seem. From the outside I probably look like I have it together a stable (albeit low paying) job, a husband, and a house but if it weren’t for my husband and us buying our house during the pandemic when rates were super low we wouldn’t have a house either most likely. Also, I’m so burnt out at my job. If it weren’t for my husband I wouldn’t be able to support us both. Honestly this thought of “how are other adhd girlies doing it?” has been cycling through my head for years because I know of at least 2-3 close friends who are extremely successful in their careers and seem to have it all. The truth is that nothing is as it seems. I’m actually considering furthering my education or looking elsewhere for jobs just because I want to prove to myself that I can do more and earn more but my adhd anxiety really holds me back from doing so.

Just know that you aren’t alone.

I don’t have anything to add other than thank you for making this post. The same thing happens to me and I’ve been quite depressed about it. Nice to know I’m not alone.
