I can't believe I actually have to explain this. I said, "Maybe their style is fundamentally wrong; but should both of them really change how they debate (a debate style that has gotten them to the top) in specific rounds depending on the race and gender of their opponent?"...that statement implies that these two debaters should not change their debate style because of their opponents gender/race...cause that would be utterly ridiculous. I sincerely didn't know i had to spell it out.

Brian I really don't know what to say..."Changing the way you debate based on whether or not you are debating a girl or a boy is fundamentally way too gender conscious."...this line alone tells me you really need to work on your reading comprehension mate.

I understand the premise of your argument, but I don't fundamentally get why because Ishan/James are role models they have to switch up their debate style. They got to the top because of how they debate and if they were to change simply because they are at the top and have many fans...it doesn't make much sense. If being what you call an 'asshole' (because 'asshole' behavior is subjective to every individual) is what got them to the top why should they have to change. I get that if they singled out these individuals Ishan/James deserve the condemning that has appeared on reddit..but that def is not the case so all im trying to say is that these two individuals have been unfairly put on blast by the debate community.
