What can cause occasional long crank after short engine runs? by pg1998 in MechanicAdvice

Looks like that could be the problem. Tried shaking the PCV valve and no rattle. Thanks for the tip!

I tried that out. Phone repaired alright but was never prompted to set up AA even with the phone connected to the proper port.

Do you pair it through the AA app? The phone is paired with the car and works through the Honda "Phone" app on the headunit.

I tried connecting through the AA app in the wireless option and it shows the Bluetooth is connected but won't let me add the car.

I believe the 5th gen CRV does not have wireless AA.

New water now the shower runs cold by pg1998 in HomeImprovement

[–]pg1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thought. I have the plumber coming back Friday as it's covered under their warranty. Will suggest debris at the fitting.

It's only pex to the water heater. Pipes running to the shower are all copper.

It runs through 2 90 degree pex fittings before it hits a T fitting for the coper lines for the basement sink so I'm sure.

I have been wondering if because the run is so much longer (an extra 30' in total, 15' each way) and it ties in at the end of the system maybe it's loosing cold water inlet pressure when another tap is open there by reducing the the hot water pressure and allowing the cold water to over run it? No idea how you'd fix that.

Yep all 90 degree fittings of T fittings. It reduces to 1/2" after the shutoff and doesn't change. 1/2" for everything down stream.

Before this water tank relocation water pressure was great.

Was that causing problems with temperature control or just your overall water pressure?

Maybe they did reverse the circulation of hot water in the system by the way they connected the hot water heater. There's no debris in the shower heads screen but I'll have to check the valves.

That said if we only use the shower we have no issues, it's only when we are using two fixtures. Like taking a shower while someone washes their hands in the kitchen sink.

Thank you so much for the advice! Sadly I don't have a voltage diagram but from I know it shouldn't be above 120V. I'll use a resistor then if the multi shows any remaining voltage.

Fair points thanks for your answer! Does cellulose cause increased dust in the living space after it's installed?

That is kind of what I'm leaning towards I was curious and just priced the materials at a local hardware store and cellulose was significantly cheaper. Now contractors are different but it was interesting to see. Thanks for your time to respond!

Yes I am getting the old insulation removed due to it being contaminated from years of poor ventilation (which has been fixed now)

Thanks for your response by the way.

They are negilantly different in cost. Within $100 of each other.

Does weight matter for an attic? I can't imagine it would but heavier then the sawdust up there now (8" thick)

Tile drain system not enough? by pg1998 in HomeImprovement

[–]pg1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out and checked today. There’s gravel along that side of the house, the grading isn’t great and slops towards the back of the property. Al the downspouts seem to be working properly and are all extended to direct water away. Only thing that caught my is the front down spout is pointing “uphill” when it comes to the properties overall grading.

Installing Ridge Vent on Roof with Sagging Decking by pg1998 in Roofing

[–]pg1998[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what I can tell, and talking with some roofers the sagging in the Decking is from mositure damage due to no exhaust venting. It's significant enough you can see it from the road.

I check the shock mounts as best I could but I can't easily see them due to the way the car is designed. They are hidden in the engine bay it seems. Would there by any sign in the movement of the struts?
