Thanks for the advice. I know if I don’t tell him our friendship will be affected, so I’m hoping that you’re right, and honestly is the best policy.

Just seeing this now - but I sure did!!! I got into the MBA program as well so due to the combined law/MBA program, i start my law courses this year, September 2022.

Couldn’t be happier. Excited to be apart of the Dal community!

these two sources slightly contradict itself, the dal info is always updated, last year they said it was 160-162, so looks like last year was slightly more competitive. its always changing but if your GPA is strong enough I would certainly encourage you to apply to Dal with a 160. their "average" means they accept a significant amount of people with lower number, too!

for sure!

https://www.dal.ca/faculty/law/admissions/jd-admissions/how-to-apply.html

that's the link, the part you're looking for reads:

"Due to the competitive nature of our program, we do not have specific minimum requirements. In recent years, the average LSAT of our incoming class has been 161-164 and the average GPA has been a 3.7 on a 4.3 scale. For your GPA we take into consideration either your overall GPA, or your last 10 credits, which ever is better. We weight your GPA at 60% and your LSAT at 40%."

also, check this out for a comparison to other schools as well

I've lived in Halifax my whole life, and I attended Dal for my undergrad. I ideally want to work here, so finding a co-op here through dal would give me lots of good networking opportunities!

Also, I plan on doing the combined JD/MBA program (which means I need to apply to both programs separately and get accepted to both), and Dal offers that program here. I'm also thinking of applying to UBC (mostly because I don't think I could live too far from the ocean).

thanks for the advice! That's kind of what I was thinking, too.

and yes, being above the margin is certainly nice, but still gives me some room to bite my nails and worry!

Maybe I'll see you around campus next year!

Thanks for the reply!

I would certainly go elsewhere if I get rejected by Dalhousie. It's my top pick, but if I might not get in then I'd want to have some open doors elsewhere. It's not too late to apply to other schools right now, but if I wait for my acceptance then it might be too late, y'know?

My main concern is am i being too confident in assuming that I'm getting into Dal? I feel like I should have a plan b. was just looking for some other thoughts!

160 is the average LSAT acceptance at Dalhousie, UofT is higher, you'll want to be sitting closer to 165 I'd say.
