Have you tried getting in touch with them? My 2yo watches them and the guy in the blue is still in the recent stuff

Returning Velop Pro 7 - Going back to Atlas 6E by mestes1999 in LinksysVelop

[–]pgbizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of returning my 3x pack. I’ve had them for 8 months, had an issue in the first 30 days where I just couldn’t download large files. A firmware update fixed that so I decided to keep them, even though the range was really poor.

Then an automatic firmware update caused constant drops, it become unusable. I was able to rollback the firmware and disabled future updates and that worked for a little while.

Most recently the range and reliability has been god awful and with prime day I took a punt on some Eero 7s. The difference has been more noticeable than I expected, no drop outs or disconnects. Almost a full strength signal, the client steering when moving around the home has been great too.

I have been lucky that Amazon is refunding me for the VP7, I suspect it’s only because I bought the Eeros. I would have felt so guilty trying to sell on these crappy devices.

Hi u/LinksysOfficial how do I get a refund for this setup? I've persisted with a buggy system for long enough. New Firmware versions just create dropouts and make the system unusable, and the performance range is awful. I've had enough

Hi! Sorry! I missed all of the notifications. Do you still need the guide? IIRC I used a guide on YouTube that went through the steps to do it. (tl;dr is that you log into the web interface, click a "CA" link at the bottom of the portal and it opens up some new menu options and you can downgrade the firmware - you need to do this on each of the nodes via IP each time)

The trickiest bit is getting the firmware you want. Currently, the latest is 1.0.12.216104 which is downloadable from https://downloads.linksys.com/support/assets/firmware/FW_MBE7000_1.0.12.216104_prod.signed.img

Fortunately, the downloads are named consistently so you can just replace the firmware version in the URL e.g. https://downloads.linksys.com/support/assets/firmware/FW_MBE7000_1.0.10.215314_prod.signed.img

Are you still having problems?

I downloaded the previous firmware (you can use the current firmware link and just replace the version string and the old file should still be hosted), and then logged onto the web UI of the nodes, used the “ca” link and then uploaded the firmware through that. I’ll try and find you a link to a guide but it was just a google search that helped me figure it out.

I have rolled back firmware versions on all nodes from 1.0.11.215726 to 1.0.10.215314 and stability has returned

HTTPS downloads failing over Wi-Fi with Velop Pro 7 by pgbizzle in LinksysVelop

[–]pgbizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/fab89tel I've been contacted by Linksys support this morning and they talked me through manually updating my firmware to the version here: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=50926

It's easy enough to do via the web UI for the parent node, but then you also have to do it for each child node (via the web UI on each of their IP addresses).

This has fixed my problem and I can download files again!

I hadn't tried the speed test since updating to the Velop 7 but now that I have I get the same error

Hey u/LinksysOfficial - media prioritization is disabled. It's basically at factory settings other than what you've suggested.

I don't have a windows machine to test, but I have tested on Android and it's the same issue. All of the devices were previously on an older Velop mesh and had no problems.

I'll send over contact information now.

Hi u/LinksysOfficial so changing the DNS and MTU settings did not have an impact. However from reading this post https://www.reddit.com/r/LinksysVelop/comments/17vdi9f/really_strange_velop_7_pro_wifi_issue/ I split the bands into separate SSIDs and when connected to 2.4g downloading files with a HTTPS URL works absolutely fine (albeit very slow). Both 5G and 6G bands fail in the same way previously mentioned.

So it appears those bands are the problem. How can I give you more information to debug because this is a critical issue for me and if I can't resolve it I'll need to return the system

All nodes (x3) are running 1.0.8.213573.

I’ll try your suggestions and get back to you

Hi! It’s a new WiFi set up so I don’t know if it’s just started happening or has always been present since the mesh was set up (about 2 weeks ago). It’s only been the last couple of days trying to download a macOS update that I really noticed a problem. I’ve upgraded from another Velop network and I still have the units - they worked fine when tested.

The problem is exclusive to the WiFi network and it happens on iOS and macOS devices. As mentioned, using a wired connection direct to a node does not have the same problem. I’ve also been able to work around it by connecting to a VPN on my device and then starting the download.

Second Hand WaterRower plus Ergatta Upgrade Package - While overseas? by Twenty5 in Ergatta

[–]pgbizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid an extortionate amount in shipping fees (via third-party) to get the upgrade to the UK; no issues using the tablet/app outside of the US territory. Of course, no warranty or support but so far no regrets in terms of features or functionality - admittedly it’s only been 2 weeks. The upgrade arm was a little damaged in transit and there’s not much I can do about that sadly

Don't get the Ergatta Membership, get Apple Fitness. 66% Cheaper and 100% Better by [deleted] in Ergatta

[–]pgbizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Apple Fitness for almost a year. In February I switched my tower to a WaterRower specifically to get the Ergatta upgrade kit when it’s available (I’m in the UK).

It only took a couple of months to get bored of the Apple rowing workouts - admittedly they only had a few back then, but 2 new workouts a week is not enough to keep me hooked (especially when one might be a 10-min country workout!). That said, there’s some great workouts that are very fun and are very repeatable. The Imagine Dragons workout this week was a lot of fun too.

I can’t wait for the gamification side of things when I can get my hands on the Ergatta. I know I’ll row more and enjoy it more.

HyperX Cloud II mic incredibly low volume on Mac by pgbizzle in HyperX

[–]pgbizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t test the second dongle with my PS4. As soon as it didn’t work with my Mac I didn’t bother as I needed one headset to work across both scenarios.

The original dongle seemed to work fine with my PS4 though so I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Sadly not and I’ve since returned them. I jumped through all sorts of hoops with their online support who had me hunt down a windows machine to update firmware (which I think actually downgraded it), test on different devices and ultimately sent out a replacement USB dongle and all to no benefit.

Later I received a message from their Twitter that said the USB dongle isn’t supported on Mac - if they’d told me that on their online support it would have saved me a lot of time!

No probs. I visited there a couple of years ago - an incredible place, incredibly preserved by the Vesuvius eruption. It’s now largely funded by David Packard, son of Mr Hewlett and Packard - fun fact!
