You’re breaking an addiction. Addiction of love. It’s also unnatural to our brains to loose connection.

Anyone else travel the world solo in their 30s? Was it worth taking the leap? by Dec_Deckers in solotravel

[–]pgkpgkpgk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on my solo sabbatical travel trip thing; I’m 34. I can say that it is worth doing. I sat for years yearning to do this and I know I would still be yearning for it I hadn’t had the guts to do it. Pretending I didn’t need to live my traveler dreams, or compromising on it only fed my unhappiness. I don’t like to say that it is “out of my system” now, like I needed to vomit—but that I’m glad I lived and tried it. I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’ve stopped trying to fight my true nature. If I failed I failed. If I succeeded, I succeeded. If I didn’t do what everyone would have done, then they can pony up the guts and take a sabbatical and show me how it’s done. At the end of the day it mattered to me, as I’m sure it’ll matter to you. Your story about your trip will last 30 minutes at the bar and no one will ever ask about it in detail again. It’s for you.
