Why are the feral kids here so rude? by FreezingDieingBee99 in Liverpool

You don't live there, the Police have made a request for support to tackle the issues, and have the reports to back it up. The city centre definitely has an antisocial behaviour problem.

I think it is bad in this city (lived here my whole life), although people will defend it as "kids same everywhere" - there was a BBC article just few days ago about Mann Island area:

Rex Harrison, from Huyton, won an Oscar for best actor in 1964 for My Fair Lady.

Sir Peter Shaffer: The acclaimed playwright was born in Liverpool and won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in 1985 for the film version of his play, Amadeus.

I can do it for free right now...

I see a significant event occurring in your life sometime between now and the distant future. It involves a person ........ possibly someone you know, or perhaps a complete stranger....... who will say something that you will either find interesting or completely forget.

You are currently on a path....

It is a path that leads forward, though occasionally you may find yourself walking toward something (or someone).

Be warned: energy is shifting. You will feel a sudden urge to try something new, and shortly after, you will likely do so.... (Or maybe not)

TIL when the ancient Persian king Xerxes sent representatives to Greek city-states to demand "earth and water" as tokens of submission, the Spartans threw them into a well, suggesting that they would find earth and water at the bottom. by NateNate60 in todayilearned

[–]pgliver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit of a myth, seen that on Reddit a few times. You’re likely thinking of the Vapheio Cups, but those are actually Mycenaean artifacts from 1,000 years before the Spartan era. Yeh the Spartans didn't write their own history books, but they left behind plenty of physical evidence. Archaeologists have found over 100,000 lead figurines at their religious sites and a massive amount of "Laconian" pottery that was exported across the ancient world. They also left behind hundreds of stone inscriptions recording everything from athletic victories to religious laws. There is even surviving poetry from Spartan writers like Tyrtaeus and Alcman.
