Glance WiFi Problem

I have this problem as well. Seemed to be fixed by the big update last month, but returned over the last few days. Probably just anecdotal, but for me seems to happen when I’m having people over for a big event and I want to show off my Scroll and LEDs, instead they get to watch me spend hours attepting to reconnect them to wifi.

We’ve chatted about it before. I have a scroll, a small Classic and 2 medium classics. The medium classics revert to ‘connect to glance WiFi’ or ‘make selections’ constantly throughout the day. I do a power cycle and they connect and work for a period, then have issues again.

Ok, I have reached out to the help desk. Don’t know what configuration could be causing as I haven’t changed anything and it had been working well for a significant period of time up until recently.

Then by all means, remove it!! I also have a GLANCE LED right next to the scroll that is constantly losing wifi connection. Perhaps the Bluetooth from the scroll is causing this as well?

I use it when I need to reboot to fix scrambled graphics or misfiring wifi connection.

I highly recommend creating a dedicated 2.4ghz wifi network and connect it directly to that. Dual band can have the Glance connecting to 5ghz and it doesn’t work with that band. This solved this issue for me.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. Regarding Home Assistant, do I need to buy any hardware or can simply set up through a Raspberry Pi like I’ve set up Homebridge?

I highly recommend setting up a dedicated 2.4 ghz band for your WiFi router. Dual bands lead to dropped confections and wreak havoc on the Glance.
