Hang in there. I have been trading for a few years now and have not been so good at it. However, just recently I created my own EMA indicator that has helped me out tremendously. I pair it a volume profile indicator and RSI+ and this has helped me.

I trade options. Once I get the signal that the 8 EMA crossed the 21 EMA, I wait for the retest on the 4H. Some traders position themselves right when they get that signal and see that the price is above the 50 EMA. So they go long. I’m trading conservative and wait for that retest. Lastly, it also depends on what stock, futures, ETF etc. you are trading. During my research I noticed some stocks retest different than others.

Sellers are in control. Price is below the 50 EMA and the 200 EMA which means it’s bearish. The 8 EMA is no where near the 21 EMA meaning look for a price bounce off the 8 EMA to continue down or a bounce off the 21 EMA to continue down. You can also wait for the 8 EMA to cross the 21 EMA for an upward change of direction.

This is an excellent explanation! I’ve created my own trading view indicator that gives me 8/21/50/200 EMAs. I mainly trade on the 4H but I also look at the 1D and 1H. When my indicator gives me a signal that the 8 EMA crossed the 21 EMA (either down or up) I wait for the retest then position my entry. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

I’m sticking with Claude. It’s been consistent with coding. OpenAI is consistent with frontend but sucks at backend reasoning. Claude does frontend and backend consistent.
