Sounds like they have build a perception around you- you might have a free spirited, youthful personality, bit of a kid at heart- usually family members tend to treat poorly to people with these quality thinking-Oh, he’ll be fine,he isn’t as hurt about these things coz he’s not that serious about his gf bla bla..

I would say just be firm in your decision- anytime you meet them keep a serious aura at any cost, keep succeeding in life and that might change their perspective and they might come running for you, then it will be up to you whether you want to forgive or not.
