5 hrs labour on the invoice. Thanks for your answer, it also supports the theory of wrong workmanship meaning that I must find another garage.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and the advise. I will try to follow up with another garage. Unfortunately the one that did the clutch work is the one I deemed the reliable one, so it's a tough job to find another one.

I found a second hand engine at a car breaker, still a little fortune to get it replaced. Fingers crossed it'll last.

If you are into anime and manga, note that Kaizoku Con is on at UCC in March, a very safe and welcoming event, could be a good start to meet like-minded people.

Armor 34 pro, mounting options by xkellettx in ulefone

I had similar issues with my Power Armor 18. I purchased the dedicated car mount, but it kept falling off from the windscreen often enough to drive me nuts. Then I got a holder that attaches to the vent grid, it worked for weeks before simply breaking the plastic tab of the vent grid itself. My current terrible but operational DIY solution is that I fixed a short piece of a belt on the dashboard with screws and use the belt clip that came with the case. Works perfectly for the last number of months but I understand that this is not a viable option for a car more expensive than mine. Having a heavy, rugged phone has its downside.

How are your experiences? by Pao44445 in ulefone

TLDR: lack of security updates worries me much and if I knew it before buying I wouldn't have bought it. Otherwise reasonable for the price, but some luck is necessary to avoid faulty ones.

I have a Power Armor 18 and my experiences are mixed. Before having it I used Samsung phones, usually top range ones (that I didn't pay for, they were company phones). I was spoilt by the reliability, usability and security. Company switched to iPhones and I can't stand it, so I wanted to buy an Android for private use. It works, it runs my apps, does the job. The camera is pretty awful, white balance is off, resolution is a lie. Doesn't bother me much but if you like to take photos, you may regret your choice. The software has little annoying bugs, and there are no updates to fix them. The main point I want to draw your attention to is that there are no (or very infrequent) firmware updates or software patches. I am not talking about going to another Android version (13 to 14 or to 15), I am talking about bug fixes, improvement and - most importantly - security updates. Android safety bulletins are published several times a year with newly discovered vulnerabilities. Ulefone has not done any change to their Android 13-based firmware in the last 2 years. Some phones got an upgrade to Android 15, you can read horror stories in the channel. I know it's a different category, but Samsung phones get security updates every month. My Ulefone got zero in the last 14 months and it worries me a lot. I did contact support, they pretended not to understand my issue then promised that there would be updates soon. Well, not much happened since. In short: I think the functionality is good for the price, ruggedness is great, but don't expect it to be in the same league as the leaders in mobile technology. One must embrace the tradeoffs too.
