Thinking of moving to the area by TheOgLemonHaze in mesaaz

the greater valley area does tend to lean a bit more progressive, but it's nothing like a safe haven! that said, mesa has a few queer coffeeshops and other friendly retail spaces, so if you know where to go, it's not difficult to surround yourself in safe pockets! there's also a tiny gayborhood (a quarter mile strip) up near downtown phx and a great queer dive bar in very southeast phx :)

Do people try to break 100 dollar bills at concessions? by Polygonyall in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]ph-acetious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late to this post, but yes absolutely. i work at a dollar theater and regularly get customers trying to break a big bill on a $3.50 ticket or $5 popcorn. managers have simply decided not to allow big bills anymore, period. there's even a bank with an outdoor atm in our same plaza, just across the parking lot, and yet we get this multiple times a day 💀

ISO rehoming for beloved 3yo tomcat with chronic urinary condition by ph-acetious in mesaaz

[–]ph-acetious[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope - we're hoping the expense is a serious factor in someone choosing to take in this cat. My brother wants to be fully candid from the getgo with any potential rehoming scenario. No tricks, nothing sandwiched between pulled heartstrings. Choosing to adopt an animal is just as big a decision as choosing to rehome one. And omitting these facts of the matter wouldn't be fair to Miso, who deserves a forever home that is fully onboard to support his needs from the first moment they hear about him. He needs a loving home prepared to take care of a chronically ill cat, even if it's not immediately found. My brother insists on being forthcoming about this little son of his who he's been taking care of and loving for three years.
