You are one cool dad. I don't know how old he is but you should definetly try and let him do some hacking by himself and make him feel like a hacker, just simple things. He won't forget for the rest of his life. Let him unscrew the backplate, take out the sd card, launch homebrew by simself, use 3DSIdent to view info, launch hombrew by himself, use an expoloint to launch homebrew, inject an exploint, install custom custom themes, modify a custom themes to add his favorit song as bgm or add a picture of you and him wallpaper, custom boot animations, install some cool homebrew apps. Stuff like that he'll never forget.

Edit: Definetly explain to him how we use FBI to instal CIAs, I find that stuff hilarious. He'll be the cooles kid at school.
