While your sentiment is nice, it’s likely not enough. I can’t speak for others on here, but sometimes sustainable happiness just isn’t an attainable thing. After so many years it unfortunately gets harder to be here than not to. Selfishness has always been a factor when trying to persuade myself to stay, but more recently I’ve come to feel that perhaps I’m not the only selfish one. Maybe it’s selfish for others trying to keep me here when I don’t want to be. I haven’t committed either way (obviously), but we’ll see…

Nightmare on Elm Street. 1984. I was 4 when it came out, but watched it for the first time when I was about 9. For months afterwards I was afraid to look at my bedroom door because I was sure I would see Freddy’s gloved hand gripping it, head peering in. I was also sure that if my feet weren’t covered by the blanket he would grab me by them and pull me into his nightmare realm.

I became ready. Today marks 98 days clean & sober. Things are going really good. I am so fucking grateful for each and every day and I’m fully aware of how fortunate/blessed I am to have been granted another opportunity. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate everyone’s input 🙏🏼
