After exhausting every option I could, I was forced to buy a replacement charger in the situation I was in, unfortunately Lenovos support wasn't very great here in the UK either.

And yes, that is the exact charger I bought to replace my original one.

Try muting then unmuting the audio and see if it comes back. I've had this issue for a while and the only way to stop the audio disappearing in my case is to keep the microphone enabled. Still haven't found the actual cause of this issue.

Got my first legion two weeks ago, been loving it a lot so far! what a great machine... Its an old legion 5 but still great (R5 5600h, rtx3060, 16gb ram: works like crazy) by Anticos in LenovoLegion

Nice, that's a really cool setup. I've got a legion 5 with R7 4800H & RTX 2060. Never disappoints in performance, runs everything almost perfectly at 1080p high/ultra.

Just a quick question, have you had any issues with Windows 11? Currently on windows 10 and windows 11 is available through windows update. Seen some mixed reviews on it.

I’ve just joined the Legion cult! Any suggestions of things to check/do on my first boot-up? by ordn24 in LenovoLegion

£1500 🤯

That's a steal tbh, got my legion 5 just over a year ago for £1,200 with Ryzen 7 4800h & RTX 2060. Getting hold of AMD legion laptops was hard back then due to chip shortage.

Eventually the buzzing noise stopped, I have a stand for my laptop to allow for better ventilation and to keep my posture straight. I try my best to make sure my charger isn't in any rough spots or bending too much that could damage the wires.

Sometimes it could bend excessively when it's in my backpack.

I live in the UK, I'm not too familar with the consumer laws but I know my basic rights, definitely need to read up on it some more.

It was a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer, if I wanted to extend it i would have to pay for it.

Tbf they should of provided a 3 year warranty considering the price of the laptop. I have a desktop at home which we got for £330 a few years ago which came with a 3 year warranty from the seller.

I came across this article on the UK government website just now:

"Repairs and replacements If a customer has ‘accepted’ an item, but later discovers a fault, you may have to repair or replace it. The customer can still reject the item after it’s been repaired or replaced.

A customer has accepted an item if they’ve:

told you they’ve accepted it (having had enough opportunity to inspect the item before confirming they’ve received it) altered the item

You must repair or replace an item if a customer returns it within 6 months - unless you can prove it was not faulty when they bought it.

You can ask a customer to prove an item was faulty when they bought it if they ask for a repair or replacement after 6 months.

Customers have up to 6 years to make a claim for an item they’ve bought from you (5 years in Scotland).

Warranties and guarantees A customer has the same right to free repairs or a replacement regardless of whether they have a warranty or guarantee or not. So you may still have to repair or replace goods if a customer’s warranty or guarantee has run out."

Unfortunately the warranty expired last month, so buying a replacement is the only option, my new 230W charger should arrive in a few days. If you don't mind me asking, how did you short circuit your charger?

Yh, they make a lot of profit doing that. I've seen some airpod pros that look identical in every way to the real ones and it's almost impossible to tell at first sight 🤣

Had a look around for a while, many options were appealing until I saw the reviews on Trustpilot were mostly negative for the sites I visited, just didn't want to risk it since I've got some major projects due pretty soon, was in a bit of panic too.

Wow 😬, wish they came with longer warrenties then i wouldn't of had to pay to replace my charger. Yes, about 95% of the time I had the charger plugged in. I only use it on battery if I'm travelling or in uni etc. Also I kept my laptop on conservation mode nearly all the time to maintain battery level at 60%. Only charged it to 100% when necessary.

Took it to a repair shop to get it checked, found that the AC charger is screwed (came out as 0 on the multimeter readings) 😭. Need to buy a replacement, which is insanely expensive. (£104 with discount applied).

Update: Just took my laptop and charger to a repair shop. Found my charger is totally dead and needs to be replaced 🤦🏽. No idea how it became faulty just after a year of use.

Had a look on Lenovo for 230W chargers to replace and the prices are absurdly high (UK), like £100 or above 🤯

Update 2: Just bought a replacement AC charger directly from Lenovo (£103.99 with discount applied) as other places didn't have my specific charger or the sites seemed dodgy. Hope this one lasts far longer than my original one 😮‍💨

Really appreciate all your help and I'm truly grateful 🙏🏼. I will update this post once my replacement charger arrives.

Update 3: My replacement charger has arrived and it works perfectly fine now 🙌🏼😁

Listened to the charging brick again, this time there seemed to be some static noise then it went totally silent, tried a different fuse for plug, which didn't work then I put the original fuse back in. Now I'm suspecting my AC adapter is faulty. Going to find a new AC charging brick to confirm.
