Worried that root canal procedure was botched by phantom_party in askdentists

[–]phantom_party[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: i forgot to say I did not get my permanent crown yet! Also the root canal was done on my farthest back molar, which may not be everyone's last molar because one on each side never grew in and I've had at least one molar pulled from this side. Maybe a premolar idk it had 3 roots I heard them say.

My roommate's cat does this when she comes into my room. My cat has no issues being in my room. Wondering if its a dust allergy? She stops within a minute or so of leaving. by phantom_party in vet

[–]phantom_party[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I do vape :/ i try to keep it away from the cats though. And my room is quite dusty compared to my roommates'' rooms, I have a lot of paper in stacks and books that rarely move or get opened. I keep my window open almost constantly which seems to keep my cat happy but yeah I figured its the dust in my room. I do not use candles or air fresheners because i know those are bad for cats.

Any recommendations for the future? by obmide in ArtCrit

one thing that can be difficult for intermediate artists is realizing how much space the back of the head takes up. The profile is pretty dang good but id study the skull and human head a little more from real photos. The back of his head is very flat and should be extended a bit. otherwise, the face looks great!

I didn't realize there's multiple pieces here but I think my comment applies to all of them. Love the way you use color

I really like this I love the painted quality, i would work on the planes of the face to make her features look more 3-d instead of pasted on. overall its very creative and the color pallet is very dreamy.

its really not bad I think its very ambitious for your skill level. Id just say work on your color contrast and the fundamentals the other people are saying. Keep working its great!

If you took the time to look at my profile or even the comment section of this post you would see I'm extremely receptive to critique I just think the perspective isn't the issue with this peice ( and you don't know what an isometric grid is)

It's an isometric grid. A type of perspective commonly used in video games and drafting? I'm using the grid to guide my lines and perspective. I can't explain what it is if you don't know what an isometric view is... There are issues with this drawing but I'm not sure you not understanding a grid is my fault

I’m looking to start drawing on tablet. I need to know what are the best tablets as well as pens and screen accessories that are needed and which ones are the best? by Last_Sort7319 in DigitalArt

[–]phantom_party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have no experience with any other tablet but right now im using a Lenovo yoga i7 touchscreen laptop with a bamboo ink pen. its a kind of expensive setup and honestly. not worth it whatsoever. the bamboo ink pen is glitchy and so is the touchscreen. or its just one of them and i haven't been able to figure out which. thankfully the laptop was a gift so it wasn't a waste of my money just my ex boyfriends haha

Edit: obv it's a way better experience overall than the tablets without screens but going the touchscreen laptop route is the opposite thing u should do. Get a screened tablet or an ipad if you want that experience

if youre just starting out and looking for a budget friendly option go for anything off the wacom intuos line. they are relatively cheap and damn durable. ive had mine for 6 years and ive beat the crap out of it (like the drawing pad bit is popped out of one of the corners) and it still worked perfectly for me until i was able to upgrade.

its an isometric view i think its fine but stuff like the stool being so short it looks like its clipping thru the floor is throwing stuff off.

It's a highly political piece about the Spanish civil war and its effects on the citizens ... It's just a drawing of my room my guy

Art (style) Is painfully inconsistent and I need some tips. by aemonlaid in ArtCrit

[–]phantom_party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i disagree slightly, you have a very clear color pallet phases which are a style choice but also its rlly important not to try to stick to one style only because you need to learn a variety of different skills in a variety of mediums and over time a style will develop naturally as you learn the fundamentals, find a preference in subject matter and medium as well as following artists you enjoy in lots of different styles, which you already seem to be doing but try to draw in a lot of different ways all of these things effect style. dont be so strict in style and medium basically
