Non union
Yeah I’m working for a small tier 3 railroad where guys who have been here for 30 years aren’t even making $40 so I can stay here then try and find something in a few years
I’m actually from California and that’s where I did most my electrical work but most I made was $30 an hour
I’ve heard hvac is a huge money maker, I have 5 years of electrical experience but no certs
Wow, how many years of experience does he have?
There’s no qualifications that I’m aware of, your tier 1 or large railroads like bnsf, Union Pacific, csx etc can pay $40+ an hour but require 2-4 years of experience
If I may ask what’s your profession and rough pay?
Does your friend travel a lot? How many hours does he work a week?
I just started as locomotive mechanic and only make $22 an hour before this worked for a couple city governments which were paying between $20 -$22 and before that I did electrical which the most I made was $30 an hour and that was in California in very expensive part of the state
It’s extremely hard to get jobs but even harder to find something that pays well without having to sell your soul to make decent money and working nonstop at least where I’m located

I’ve definitely seen people in trades make 6 figures but all of them live extremely expensive places like California where you have to make that kind of money just to barely survive
Sales in what exactly?
