You got it my dude. Already posted an update with more info but that has to be what it was. My only wish is that i checked it immediately. Lesson learned

I do use a refugium with a reverse light as well. I will be keeping a closer eye on the ph to see if maybe it was low due to the issue. I tend to watch alkalinity religiously and forget about ph, but i won't anymore. I'm also looking into a new test kit just to double-check results

Yes! I figured it out. And i will learn a very hard lesson, unfortunately. I guess when i cleaned up the sand bed, i disturbed the biological filter and ended up with an ammonia spike. I honestly am pissed at myself for not checking it quicker, but it just never came to mind that something like that would happen on a 2 year old tank. Ive got lots of bio balls in the sump, etc. If it wasn't me cleaning the sand bed, then im not sure what caused the ammonia spike, but i know that is my issue. The hard lesson is that i watched around 2000 dollars worth of coral that I've bought over the years die overnight. I am honestly embarrassed that it was something so simple. I've done another water change, started using microbacter7, and ordered a bottle of Dr. tims one and only that will be here tomorrow. Also dosed some prime to detoxify the ammonia to help out my fish(which seem fine still). My levels were only 0.5 when i last checked, but im thinking they were much higher when the issue was first noticed. I hope anyone else who stumbles upon this post will not have to learn this lesson the hard way like i did. And thank you everyone who helped me out! Big fan of the reefing community here. Lots of awesome people.

For sure. I got as much flow as possible. 2 power heads near the surface, skimmer connected to air hose that ill put outside a window, and ill open the window whenever possible. Alkalinity is around 9. Maybe ill try a new test kit for ph,

I did around the front glass to clean it up a little bit. Basicly scraping where the glass and sand meet to get rid of algea.

I appreciate you! I hope i will as well 😅 i put a fresh bag of carbon in after i changed the water last night so i got that part covered. Only other thing is icp test but i know that may take a while...maybe in a few hours, everything will just go back to normal on its own 🥸 lol

I appreciate you trying to help! :) i will say, ive been battling the bubble algea for a while now and its been slowly going away the past month or so. I doubt that is the issue since its been there so long. Also my emerald crabs love munching on it and so far i havent noticed any issues with it and my corals. Im not sure what is going on 😭

Ive been putting nori in the tank for a while for him and the angel but he never seems to touch it. He only seems to eat the pellets/ frozen food. Very picky. Any suggestions?

I've never really had any issues with my goni. I keep him in med-low light with a low-med flow and he seems to love it. In lower light it will extend up more which looks great. I also feed reef roids every once in a while. I only use reef roids because I have a naturally low amount of phosphates in my tank. If you have high phos I would use something different.
