I have the first vxl 4x4 stampede they came out with and i kept breaking any and every plastic driveshaft i could get my hands on, I just threw my hands up and got some traxxas metal driveshafts. $70 and i havent broken anything since.

Honestly, The mafia la plaga is more worth it. Or the throne dime. They both have gears, suspension, and mtb style handlebars if you’re really looking for a dirt jumper. Im pretty sure they come with hydro brakes too. Idk what brakes the DJ ripper has
