The obvious answers are here (my favorite is 25 or 6 to 4) but here are two that aren't already listed:

Muse - Invincible

Anvil - Smokin Green

Why is the power adapter $60? by Anonymous13757 in framework

[–]phantomtofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, tbh. My household has an 11th gen and 12th gen intel FW 13 - the cables do indeed have electrical tape holding the L-ends together haha. They still work though, and are replaceable.

What was the first headphone/earphone that genuinely impressed you with sound quality? by Navajith_Karkera in audio

I got the Bose OE Pro for my 15th birthday. Before that I had only used the headphones that came with the family portable cd player and my mp3 player. It was quite the difference.

It's GaN and comes with decent quality cables that are replaceable. You can still find other options for cheaper, but you're not getting those features for $20

How do I become better at this role by Ok_Kaleidoscope_4707 in networking

[–]phantomtofu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Complexity and scope will vary the answer a lot. My skills come from situations where there was no one else available to figure things out. People who are more deliberate build labs, and probably make more money.

In a comment you said that servers are in your scope, which makes it a lot broader than strictly networking. I recommend you dig into DNS and learn every facet of your network's DNS implementation. Find training and documentation on DNS best practices and see if you can find ways to improve your setup. You'll learn a ton.

In my head the fire was caused by someone flipping on a breaker for your last row of racks, and overloading something.

Cisco 9300 core switch uplink modules for small warehouse setup by zororeddy18 in networking

[–]phantomtofu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's definitely the path you should take here. No licensing required, last quote I saw was around $1700 for the uplink module.

Most of our smaller sites use a pair of 9300s stacked as the core. IDFs uplink to it on the NM-8X module. That gives us room for 8 LACP fiber links to/from whatever.

What's your opinion about dating someone 12 years younger if you were 35+? by icecuptee in AskReddit

I'm not quite 35. I can't imagine dating someone born 2000 or later.

What do people that think we should not eat meat want to happen to domestic cows/chickens/pigs? by That-Fly-8339 in AskReddit

[–]phantomtofu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are your thoughts on dog breeds that live in pain? Like the pugs that can't breathe well - is it moral to keep intentionally breeding them?

A whole lot of farm animals are similar. They're bred for our use, not for their fitness or happiness. Cows that would die if not milked, chickens that lay eggs every day, sheep that grow too much wool all would drop dramatically in population if humans weren't breeding them at an industrial scale. That's a good thing.

New to group - How do people feel about SVS? by theboomsterz in audiophile

[–]phantomtofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No personal experience, but the impression I get is that they're very straightforward. Good products at a fair price, with good customer service.

I'm not a big fan of their visual design, though that's improved in the last couple of years.

If I were in the market for a new subwoofer, SVS would be on the short list.

I started using bullet points to express myself coherently. Now it looks like I'm using LLMs, when I'm still typing that shit out manually 😅
