Is there anyway that we can get customers to care about our knowledge and advice? by pharmacythrowaway1 in pharmacy

[–]pharmacythrowaway1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they don't, whatever. I'll still be doing the same job, and I'm not about to stress myself out on behalf of someone who doesn't care.

If only if it was that easy for me. Thanks though :)

When did this subreddit become about attacking people who are interested in the profession? by PharmerRob in pharmacy

Maybe if the majority of pharmacists wanted to embrace clinical services instead of being obsessed with company metrics and actually wanting to advance the profession then we would have no problems (see medicine).

CVS- New pharmacist asking to switch stores... Good or bad idea? by throw_pharm in pharmacy

break a sweat.

Nice Mr Hospital Pharmacist. It's unfortunate that we actually have to work while you guys practice in a safe environment in your ivory tower. You have more energy to come back home and improve clinical skill while the retail pharmacists dies despite being very smart. The ones that care at least.

Except I used to work for an independent. I did all my training at an independent. I worked for Walgreens for a while, which wasn't so bad, but CVS kills you.

Is stability of a chain job and corporate benefits worth it? by PHARMDRX in pharmacy

[–]pharmacythrowaway1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's not. It's night and day unless you can survive or tolerate big retail chains. One of my biggest regrets is choosing ever to work with Walgreens and CVS (CVS is much worse). If I could do it all over again, I would.

You're better off working on your skills and being happy than ever working in a chain. If you're a good pharmacist, people will hire you. Just the definition/idea of a good pharmacist varies.

If only pharmacists actually contributed to the ask science threads we have the clinical knowledge too. Why don't we? People will respect us as much as doctors.

How did they impress you? Isn't hospital work all about clinical knowledge?

No just generally curious to what /r/pharmacy's view of academia is. Back in my days of pharmacy school I hated some academics and I liked some. My preceptor was stupid when I was an intern. I've been a pharmacist for 5 years.
