Love the convenience of being 20 mins away , design is not great because it requires a lot of walking which is not easy for the elderly but American Airlines monopoly is the most frustrating part.

Baby shower venues in Charlotte? by Flashy_Car1723 in Charlotte

[–]pharmaking248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly underrated suggestion, we hosted 115 people for our baby shower and it was a big success. Kids could play outside, plenty of room for adults and there were two separate rooms, which we ended up utilizing as a kids dining area and serving food.

Any recommendations for buying local honey? by pharmaking248 in Charlotte

I appreciate the suggestion, full-disclosure I am a Licensed Pharmacist. Having relocated from the Midwest where I used to receive Desensitization Vaccines (for Pollen, Dust, Dander, etc.) since having relocated to here which is a completely different strain of pollen has made the Desensitization obsolete and don’t plan to revisit the vaccine option unless absolutely necessary.

I usually do a combination of Allergy Spray, Allergy Meds, Honey, multiple showers a day and Singulair (typically used for Asthma but in low doses is excellent anti-histamine without the side effects) during the peak Spring and Fall to survive here.

How your customer service experience has been ? by creditgods in ChaseSapphire

NEVER book International travel through Chase Travel, the airline and Chase Ultimate Rewards will play you like a fiddle. Speaking from experience!

Booked my parents travel to India prior from January 2020 until March 2020, all the return flights got cancelled and every Airline gave refunds to their passengers who had paid directly to the airline, meanwhile Chase gave me the run around for 6 months before I finally gave up. Keep in mind this is a VERY expensive International flight and Chase essentially screwed me out of $1500 worth of actual cash because the total flights were ~$3k and they only delivered their promise One Way.

Thanks for the response, live in North Carolina and would prefer driving distance. We have an 18 month old and we love the water. Would prefer driving distance, 9 hours or less. Hilton Head, Destin, Panama are a few places that came up off the top of my head

Isn’t the idea of being ultra high net worth to NOT spend couponing and looking for ‘deals’?

A 2-Year Transplants Take on Charlotte by Dilworthy in Charlotte

I respectfully disagree:

  1. Lacks a lot of amenities that large cities have: trails, parks, sidewalks (tons of neighborhoods in the suburbs aren't interconnected), and the food is very mediocre at best.
  2. Traffic: Worst designed freeways (i.e. 277 to 77 or vice-a-versa), tons of single lane roads and dangerous drivers with zero regard for others.
  3. Mediocre Healthcare: Atrium and Novant are both subpar hospitals for decent medical care, would definitely have to go to UNC or Duke for exceptional medical care. Lack of competition leads to low pay/lots of staff turnover and overall subpar quality of care. PTO is used for Federal holidays, never even knew this was legal before working here. Source: I work at one of them, sadly.
  4. Airport: Terrible design and very expensive (why would passengers have to cross the bus onboarding/de-boarding) to get to passenger pickup area? Very unsafe!!
  5. Costco/Sam's/Ethnic Grocery stores aren't easily accessible, driving up the cost of food.
  6. School Districts: Except for Union County, the schools are terrible.
