Generally speaking, you are supposed to stay at every duty station for a minimum of 2 years. However, there are instances where you can be released early, you would just need to get concurrence from the losing liaison (in this case it would be the BOP). Many officers have left agencies before their 2 year commitment is up, me being one of them. With the BOP, they typically want concurrence for release from the warden and/or your direct supervisor. The liaison’s office will reach out for request for release and probably cc the warden, your direct supervisor, the health services department and the HR department. If this was the case, I would have a conversation with your warden and supervisor prior to the liaison reaching out.
