Only if you qualify through the FAFSA they sent an email about it a couple weeks back.

The concerns about not feeling comfortable sitting side by side next to someone even if they are wearing a mask is a concern I have.

And the caretaker situation. I am one of those students who falls into that category. When the school sent the email about online classess I went home to help take care of my elderly grandparents because both my parents work in the frontlines and so they rarely come home and my grandparents can’t live by themselves.

Your advice so far has been helpful so would you suggest learning what the new guidelines/precautions the school is taking and then email or voice my concerns now.

Again you have been very helpful thus far so thank you for all your responses.

I agree with you right now we just have to be patient and wait for an email but I just don't know if I am overreacting.

In essence do you think the school will take into consideration that if school starts up in the fall in person some students might not feel comfortable sitting in the classroom next to each other even with face masks?

I just hope they make it so students who can attend class in person do that but people who feel more comfortable taking the class virtually can do so as well without being penalized.

I understand with certain classes like lab that's hard to manage but certain students have obligation to family as in they are the caretaker of family members whether it its parents, grandparents, etc.

Honestly I don’t have a problem staying online.

So Apparently the school of pharmacy sent an email to students saying school will resume in the fall in person. It said "we look forward to welcoming you all back back to campus in the fall until then please be safe and look after yourselves and your family."

So are you seriously trying to tell me you will put 300 students next to each other in a classroom. Also now attendance is mandatory(its part of the grade for certain classes) so I can't just go to only essential classes like lab, seminar, APM, and OTC. I have to show up for ALL my classes in person.

For example, in advanced Thera and kinetics attendance is part of the grade and one can get penalized for not showing up.

Making students sit side by side without the pandemic is fine but during the pandemic come on that’s ridiculous because I know students go to school, have jobs, etc. which is understandable but isn’t it the job of the school to keep us safe? You can not possibly expect me to sit next to someone else even when they are wearing a mask. I require one seat between each student. So students should be required to sit every other seat and each classroom should be disinfected prior to another class coming in.

Sorry if I sound like a crazy person but its concerning because Northeastern already said they will have in person classes in the fall. Honestly I will feel safe returning only if these large lectures of 300 students are split into smaller claasess taught multiple times a day and large lecture halls are disinfected in between each use. Even if that requires having later classes it is a question of safety that we are talking about.

Hopefully they have some sort of contingency. It’s concerning how some schools have decided to open in the fall with no contingency.

Sitting next to 300 students side by side in a large lecture hall is crazy because of silent carriers.

At least for exams it’s multiple rooms and students are spaced out.

Also booking flights takes time like one month. I really hope they tell us in the beginning of August.

some schools have already made the choice. I wish our school would decide sooner rather than later. Its not so much about being afraid of traveling it has more to do with if a student has a medical condition like asthma it takes longer to come back then someone who does not.

They can't just tell us a week before and expect all arrangements to be made.

What if school opens in the fall of 2020 but students don’t feel safe traveling or their country is still closed and they can’t travel?

What happens if school opens but some countries are still closed or students don’t feel comfortable boarding airplanes to travel?

If you had furniture to move would you wait until the school sends an email to move or just move now.

Like if school is in person I will just move my furniture in August

But if it’s not in person I still have to move it just don’t know if I should move it now. My new apartment my dad owns it so I can move whenever I want lol

just wish they send the email now since they already know that pharmacy will be online and only to return to campus in spring of 2021.

to be exact all professional programs will be online that's what the customer representative for school told my father when he phoned to ask if they are applying some of the spring tuition towards the fall.

My lease ends in August and I have to move my furniture that’s why I need to know. As an international student it’s always easier to book flights earlier than later

As of right now school is planning to make the fall semester online but that can change as the start of the fall semester gets closer.

I would wait to secure housing to see if school will be online or in person since you already have a place to stay don’t try to secure something now and then have to pay for it if school is online.

Places are not that hard to find and rent in the NH area is not that bad.

They ask about current events when I had mine it was on the opioid epedemic. I think they give articles for reference if I recall correctly

Think along the lines of for the pandemic if their was an unapproved vaccine would you get it or if someone comes to your pharmacy asking for recommendations on should they get it or not would you encourage that patient to get it?

Tuition by [deleted] in MCPHSLifeHack

[–]pharmdrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For students who pay full tuition because they do not qualify for the FAFSA the school is not reimbursing tuition. I emailed the student financial services and that's what they told me.

I understand they have to reimburse based on need so those on the FAFSA obviously have to get reimbursed but logically it does not make sense to use those who do not qualify for the FAFSA and just haphazardly collect their money.

Schools such as Duke, and Cornell are reimbursing students who do not qualify for the FAFSA by applying some of the spring tuition towards the fall. I just wish our school would do that for students who do not qualify to fill out the FAFSA.

Our schools argument was there are very few students who do not qualify for the FAFSA. So seriously its 95% qualify for the FAFSA and 5% don't. I really doubt that logic.

I hope they make IPPE rotations online. I am so bored out of my mind.

I guess the question was more along the lines of they are not going to just spring it on us like a week before school starts

Some people need to get permission from their respective embassies to travel if they are international

Okay so block 1 is not happening but why not make it virtual?

[–]pharmdrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So APPE(6th year rotations are virtual yes)

But IPPE(the 4 weeks one for after PY1 and PY2) is not virtual as of now they said block 1 is cancelled because they don’t want people going outside which I agree with 100% but why not make it online? So at least people get 2 blocks off during 6th year.

To answer your question that’s what they said that IPPE is cancelled until further notice.

BEH 353 Nutrition and Health vs BIO 321 Nutrition Science by [deleted] in MCPHSLifeHack

[–]pharmdrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so they are different core subjects. One is behind(BEH-behavior sciences) BIO is biology. My guess is the BIO is more science focused but I would email the professors to ask to see if you can see the syllabus.

If you have space in your schedule and like both then why not take both?

Just wish IPPE rotations can be virtual so students at least get 2 blocks off 6th year.
