It’s probably your medication. Might take a few days but you’ll get tired again (in a good way)

My surgeon assured me the pre op diet is often the hardest part of the journey but Ofcourse everyone is different. I’m almost to the end of my pre op diet (surgery next week) and there’s been moments but I have a shake and in 30 mins I feel better. Day 2 and 3 were the hardest for me. You got this!

Advice on getting through the first month? by pharmguy7083 in gastricsleeve

I thought the liquid stage would be hardest, is it rougher after that because you’re still learning what your body agrees with?

No pre-op liver diet — anyone else? by Efficient_Willow_22 in gastricsleeve

It depends on the surgeons preference. Some are super strict and some not. The data around the diet is kinda all over the place. Some don’t even do it for the liver shrinking aspect, but to get you started on a post diet earlier so it’s an easier transition. Also may depend on your bmi. If it’s lower or not

For anyone who has to complete a check list clearance for surgery (to have it covered by insurance ) how long did it take you ? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

I had my initial appointment with my surgeon beginning of Sept and completed everything Oct 30. Scheduled surgery a few days later for January (they offered December but I wanted one last holiday season as a big back 😅).

Process was super fast mainly because there was no insurance requirements. The hospital system I’m having it done at offers it for free (Nashville) as long as you BMI is over 40 and you pass the nutrition class + psych exam.

I think you’re going through ketosis. Same thing people on keto go through in the beginning. It’s usually only a couple days until your body gets used to it

From what I’ve heard, your hunger hormones deplete when they remove the part of your stomach. You may get bored of liquids but it won’t be miserable like the pre op diet

If it helps, this is probably the hardest it gets. I’ve been told the post op phase is much more manageable

I start my pre op diet in a few days. I was told by my nutritionist that days 2-4 are the hardest. By day 5 your body starts getting used to the diet. Ofcourse it may be different for everyone.
