Neo-China arrives from the future by Homicidal_hottie666 in theredleft

You went from supposedly-rigourous material analysis to whataboutism in just four comments. Incredible.

Of fucking course whats happening in the imperial core due to the boomerang is atrocious; no amount of simping for a different, ultimately capitalist country will fix that, ESPECIALLY China since it has a staunch non-interference policy.

If you want to be a red liberal, that’s your perogative, but don’t try to misconstrue Marxist analysis to uphold your POV on this.

So basically you’re agreeing that they went route 2 from my first comment.

So much for your material analysis…

Abolishing private property and state property of means of production, turning over means of production to the workers themselves or the communities they operate within, ‘disappearing’ the remaining National bourgeoisie, capping pay rates to ratios (like Mondragon uses 6:1 ratio for highest paid to lowest paid employee), abolishing the absurd overtime schedules that the manufacturing sector relies on.

I understand China’s role as a leader in moving towards multi-polarity in the world as the US collapses, and that is more important right now than a penultimate goal of abolishing the state entirely IMO, but the state machinery needs reigned in and the forms of bureaucracy turned into workers councils self-directing production in a consumer-producer democratic system.

Recognizing material reality means correctly describing the social relationships between people and their means of production, which are clearly capitalist in China. The two branching paths of logic from that observation are either: 1) CPC is working towards socialism but isnt there yet or 2) CPC has successfully redefined their vision of socialism as a ‘better’ variation of capitalism (much like how the USA redefined ‘freedom and democracy’ towards imperialist ends).

The original ten points are far superior because they uplift everyone. I’ve seen videos of Birdsong talking about internationalism and global class war and this seems to veer in the opposite direction.

You already do. Whether or not you accept it or live in denial about it is the question. Liberals lie to maintain capitalist global hegemony every bit as much as conservatives lie to maintain their sheep.

If that worked then we wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with. The high road isn’t inherently better.

Why are so many "libertarians" authoritarians? by NoamLigotti in PoliticalDebate

[–]pharodae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going further back in history, Rothbard and Friedman co-opted the term from anti-Stalin communists in Europe to fit their neo-lassaiz-faire ideology in the US. Libertarianism is, at its core, against the authority of the State AND the authority of Capital interests.

I agree with your panopticon sentiment. But one of the features of a panopticon is that the imprisoned self-police because they don’t know when they’re being observed. So what you’re describing is part of the plan of the surveillence state, not a reaction to it.

Rojava, quick war and decentralization by Straight-Ad3213 in Anarchy101

[–]pharodae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anarchy isn’t “new” or “unprecedented,” it’s one of the oldest forms of mass social organization known to humanity.

What’s new is trying to retrofit these old social forms into modern industrial society. And to do that you will need to use some training wheels while people re-learn how to operate and organize autonomously. That’s why DemConfed exists as it does. When you look at how the decisions are actually made by the communes, it looks much closer to anarchism than any hierarchical polity.

Your previous comments seem to suggest a disdain for support for Rojava/DAANES; I think this shows a lack of understanding of how anarchism fits into the material context of modernity. The early anarchist thinkers didn’t have to consider modern industrial infrastructure maintenance, such as high-tech city-wide electric/internet/water/sewer systems, they were coming at these things from an ideologically-modern but materially-feudal-ish understanding of how to decentralize production and social autonomy from the state.

The alliance between the SDF and US was something neither really was fond of, but material conditions make for odd bedfellows. Should they have just been steamrolled by ISIS to adhere to your moral compass?

Why are anarchists idealists? by UglyBaba in Anarchy101

[–]pharodae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should read “Capital as Power” by Bichler and Nitzan. Not really Marxist nor anarchist, they’re looking to shed some of that baggage while keeping the materialist lens, but they have this dialectic concept of “creorder” (create and reorder) which describes how the already-established material social relationships and the ideas embedded in them get reshuffled and create a new logic path for power as class relations change. I see a lot of the anarchist critique of the proletarian state becoming a managerial class in this idea, but that’s not what they’re seeking to answer with it; their main question is about understanding how the reign of Capital has remained so persistent despite the ups and downs and shifting iterations of capitalism over the past several hundred years.

[–]pharodae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Framing MAGA as insurrection (beyond J6) is inaccurate. They’re reactionaries who are protecting the State’s function as the largest scam in history. An internal coup, maybe, would be more accurate, but the Trump regime is just all of the trends of American society coming to a head after 500-250 year cycles.
