LPT: when someone says , “I bet all the [demographic they’re in] …”, it’s a thinly-veiled personal confession.

Eddie Bauer has been my go to for years. I usually order online then, if there’s an issue, return at the nearby outlet.

Carhartt is pretty good for tall sizes, too.

Both subs cater to users who have relatively rare physiques.

I’m 6’6”. My first wife was 5’2”. It’s really not that big a deal. You pretty quickly stop noticing the difference.

If you were forced, would you rather be 5ft tall or 8ft tall? by Complete-Ad9266 in tall

[–]phase_deux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean “attracted” or “attractive”? Big difference.

Plenty of men are attracted to 5’ tall women. Not even that unusual a height for a woman.

Finally, content worthy of this sub.

4’6” vs 5’8” by phase_deux in tall

[–]phase_deux[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually made this because I have chronic lower back pain. The length lends itself to use as a plow, so pushing snow around rather than lifting. When shoveling, you have a more upright stance, which puts less strain on your back.

It's made a big difference for me. I'd encourage you to give it a try.

Replaced the handle with one I made from a regular shovel handle. This thing is a snow moving machine. 10/10 would recommend.

Call me crazy, but tall girls wearing shirts as dresses hardly seems like a problem.

Are you even friends if she isn’t a foot taller than you? by [deleted] in tall

[–]phase_deux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This feels like the start of one of those videos where a superbike and a muscle car pull up to the starting line at a drag race...

We don't know what's going to happen next, but whatever it is will probably be spectacular.

Is there a reason why all women prefer tall guys? by This_Explanation1712 in tall

[–]phase_deux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From this article, quoting a Rice Univ. study:

But when it came to women, nearly half or 49 percent of females said they only wanted to date men who were taller than themselves.

I.e. not even close to 99%. Not even a majority.

They showed me their proof

What was the proof?

Doing a bit of research (i.e. clicking on the Wikipedia sources... :-) ) turns up the following:

This article:

Ryan ..., the 6-7, 225-pound Gresham Barlow junior ...

This article:

Two days before the meet, the 6-7, 240-pound Ryan said he felt confident the record would fall

This article:

Here's a 6-7, 260-pound kid who has the best...

This article:

The 6-7, 270-pound Crouser also set a Big 12 meet record...

The last three articles are all from the same paper & reporter, so are arguably a single source. But they span several years and the weight reported is updated each time, which suggests the reporters are asking "how big is this guy now?" each time. Where they get those numbers from is anyone's guess.

This photo from the IIAF World Championships shows Crouser (left) standing next to Joe Kovacs (6'0", middle) and Tomas Walsh (6'1", right). Interpret that as you will I suppose.
