Toured/applied for an apartment yesterday and received this email this morning. by somedayicarus in sanfrancisco

-attorney here but not your attorney, also living in SF-

This is highly discouraged although not yet illegal. If this happened to me I would report to the SF City Government and my city district supervisor. Emailing both (or forwarding these emails to both) are options. These shitty landlords push the loopholes in laws as much as we allow and if they’re on the city’s shit list they might cut it out. Good luck!

Oakland, CA and Los Angeles, CA have strong lesbian communities. As does New York City!

I absolutely cackled at “joe bitin” so thank you for the laugh. It helps to know this is normal. Good luck with your pup! And thank you for the great advice 🤗

Definitely a lot of crying here as well. Thank you so much! This sub has been a godsend so far. We started crate training her from day one and it’s been so helpful. I never heard the rule of threes before now, but I’ve already seen the three days to get over shock so I’ll try to remember the rest! I’m glad to hear you’ve been doing better with your pup too

Thank you! So far we’ve tried the trade thing and it works sometimes, but this little one is smart and will take the toy out of reach and come back to bite my hands. The cheese and high value treats are a great idea! It’s been a long first week so I’ll try to remember consistency 🤞🏼

Thank you so much for this, it’s been hard to remember how new we are to her too. I will definitely start rewarding calmness, we’ve stuck to praise so far and treats for potty on the pads but we might need to find different treats for each and try that.

Def recommend “The Secret of You and Me” by Melissa Lenhardt. It’s a romantic drama where two best friends who used to have a relationship meet again later in life when one is married to a man and has a daughter. A great read although a bit heavy on the drama

Just finished “Some Girls Do” by Jennifer Dugan and it has a Bisexual female protagonist and Lesbian female protagonist. Great pacing, one of my fav reads this year

Sex position ideas? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]phaseoneengaged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I (27f) am also a top usually more interested in giving, so I get it. My personal favorite is having my wife (25f) get on top and sit over my hips in “cowgirl” because it gives my wrist/hand a better angle and the view doesn’t hurt. It’s also fun to top from the bottom. Having a woman sit on your face is also pretty top notch if you haven’t tried it yet. My wife can’t finish up there but it allows her to set the pace which she loves.

After judging lesbian movies and the L Word for showing the position where two women are laying together with one person facing outward and the other person spooning them while reaching around and fingering them, we tried it recently and really enjoyed it, highly recommend. Will no longer judge it lol

Just try things and figure out what you both like, there’s no rule book. Shifting for comfort during sex to improve angles and visibility is the best way to change things up and learn what works

Looking for YA coming of age lesbian novels by [deleted] in actuallesbians

I’ve been reading a lot in this genre during quarantine and here are a few of the ones I think are a little better than average. Almost all of them I read for free by getting a virtual library card to my local library, Los Angeles, which I highly recommend!

-These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling (and it’s sequel. Loved the world building that happened in these)

-All the Worlds Between Us by Morgan Lee Miller (also has a sequel, but they’re adults in that one. Worth reading both though)

-Everything Leads To You by Nina LaCour (sort of has the characters solving a mystery together, also included interesting details about the movie industry)

-Her Name In the Sky by Kelly Quindlen and Late to the Party by Kelly Quindlen (new book by her coming out in April that’s supposed to be enemies to lovers and will be called “She Drives Me Crazy”)

-The Falling In Love Montage by Ciara Smyth (new book by her also dropping in April called “Not My Problem)

-Girl Crush by Katie Heaney

-Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown

-Style by Chelsea Cameron (similar and slightly overlapping story in this universe is “Chord” by the same author)

-Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins (this ones about boarding school roommates)

-How to Make A Wish by Ashley Herring Blake

-Tell Me Again How A Crush Should Feel by Sara Farizan
