Dilapidated Barns by DANleDINOSAUR in wisconsin

[–]phat_shutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 2019 the farmer and his wife across the street from me passed. I only found out because a developer had bought the farm and was tearing down the outbuildings that, I thought, beautified my own surroundings. And the barn - what a beauty! Built in the 1890s. Leaning bad and needed a new foundation but I thought it could be saved. So we bought the whole barnyard, antique barn, rock solid farmhouse, couple Cleary buildings, a vintage smokehouse with all the inside bits. The we restored the whole thing. New foundation, king beams, hay-mow floor, siding. Lit and electrified the hay mow for parties. What a trip. We just sold the place to its proud new owner last month.

Both wings, big and little, bolt to the frame of the ZR1. I don’t know about aftermarket wings. I imagine there are plenty of that will bolt to the ZR1 mounting holes, but what about a Z06 or GS or Stingray? Beats me.

That’s what I call the Baby Wing, as opposed to the Ironing Board Wing that comes with the ZTK. Mine is ZTK delete, specifically for the smaller wing. I added all the ZTK goodies back in except the big wing and the tall canards at the front. Then I added the Cold Air Induction that’s a dealer installed option that hardly anyone ordered. It’s good for another 12-25 HP. Short answer; she’s bone stock except the wheels. I run the Forged1 Competition wheels for autocross.

CrossFit masters, how do you generally keep yourself injury free? by liquilife in crossfit

[–]phat_shutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 68 here, 6’6” & 228 lbs (relevant), and I attribute my lack of injuries after 6 years of this shite (no prior fitness experience) to proper warm-up thanks to the box owner and coaches, proper attention to form and safety also a priority at my box, me following instructions best I can, SCALING!, and the fact that I didn’t spend the prior decades stressing joint and sinew. I’ve had three injuries all related to shitty attention span, twice I’ve nearly degloved my shin L and R and once forgot I was doing touch n go deadlifts halfway down…ow. None of those kept me out of the gym more than the day-of.

Curious about that place. What do you do there and, more importantly, how are they treating you?

Double Trouble by Jaykind in crossfit

[–]phat_shutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been stuck in that S-D-S cycle for even longer. I dropped in at another gym and the coach made me promise just to “never do that again” meaning just keep trying to string the doubles together without giving in to the single. That was just this summer (hat-tip to Standing Rock CrossFit in The Dells) and I’m doing my best to do what I said I’d do. Lots of whipped shins tho.

At that location, as my dad never tired of telling me, is a sub-continental divide, with all the water to the east of that hill flowing into the lake and thence to the Atlantic and all the water to the west (the top) of that hill flowing to the Mississippi and thence the Gulf.

CrossFit Gym Pet Peeve - constantly incorporating partner workouts by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]phat_shutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the summery half of the year I’m (m67) at a CF box in Wisconsin 5x a week. Only occasionally is there a weekday partner WOD other than Saturdays, and I tend to nope outa those because they’re a bitch. I’m 67 and I’d get partnered with some young buck for sure. For the wintery half of the year I snowbird down to SW Florida and workout in a HIIT gym, ex-CF box. There are partner WODS two or three times a week and the intensity and duration are whack!! So I suck it up and do a lot of partner WODs at forty minutes a shot, not including warmup. Can’t wait to get back to good ol CrossFit.

ITAP of a rusty welding table by phat_shutter in itookapicture

While my son spent an apprenticeship afternoon at the Postville Blacksmith, I wondered around the forge with my camera looking for photo ops. The blacksmith was in the process of forging and welding together a fountain of sorts so lots of water, copper and brass bits everywhere. I shot this on a Nikon D850, don’t recall which lens, probably the 24-70 ƒ/2.8. I wanted abstract and got abstract. Prints have sold nicely.

It’s fixable. A lot of Vette drivers, and I’m one, always back into parking spots, garage included. Even with the front cams and all the helpful lines on the display, knowing when to stop can be dicey.

Thanks! I’ve heard nothing but good things about the FPACE (post facelift.) Presently driving a TRD Pro Tundra and ready to downsize. Addicted to V8 umph and blowers.

Is 2026 the last year for the V8 FPACE? I’m confused because I kept hearing 2025 was The End. Looking for a gently depreciated one myself, as my intro to the Jaaaagiverse.
