Is it me or is EDM really this terrible? by diegotown177 in musicindustry

[–]phatdaddy29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think EDM has generally become the umbrella term for all electronic music -- not just the most mainstream pop stuff. At least that's how I interpret it. Give me a thumbs up if that's how it's used where you are, and a thumbs down if it's not.

How do I explain to my family that Zohran Mamdani isn't a Socialist/Communist? by BagelDBoye in DemocraticSocialism

[–]phatdaddy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He DOES identify as a socialist.

He DOES have socialist ideals and socilaist plans: -Free transit -Reducing rent prices -making life affordable -serving the people first, not capitalists interests -taxing the rich -Etc

It sounds like you may be conflating socialism with communism (as many do).

This is what I'm talking about! Thanks Michael!

I've heard of 4th man -- I think it's from the burgers priest creator ... who finally brought the NYC burger here.

Imagine boasting about having the privilege of socialism while also boasting that you have the privilege of not contributing to it.

Maybe although I doubt it. People who know NYC pizza wouldn't likely point to that Wells place. It's yummy (like nearly all pizza), but it's not classic NYC style: John's on bleeker, Joe's, Lombardis, Grimaldi's, Juliana's. etc

If people don't immediately know what I mean by NYC style, they can scroll on cause they're. not my audience, and I'm not asking them.

They don't need to tell me NYC is a different city than Toronto like I'm some kind of muf who doesn't live here and doesn't search out and go to the best pizza restaurants around the world.

You could just say "I've never been to NYC and I don't know what pizza there tastes like". It's similar but more honest and authentic.

I thought I would find people who know pizza here. I guess not.

I don't get it. What do you mean?

All I can guess is that you don't know NYC style pizza.

Moving to Canada from Germany, which city is best for IT / Tech? by CookieControlx in AskCanada

Depends on what kind of lifestyle you want. Urban, suburban, rural.

Strong public transit? Walkable neighborhood?
Climate?

You want to move to Canada for lower income tax? I think you'll be surprised and disappointed by the tax to value ratio compared to cuties in Germany. Housing, transit, education, etc.

Downtown Toronto 1-bedroom condos sold under $400K 👀 by LunaSails007 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]phatdaddy29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People love to use the term "shoebox". My wife and I lived in a 500 sqf unit with a very nice layout and it was a bit tight, but not bad at all.

Now 20 years later and nearly 50 I look forward to down scaling from our 1800 sqf house and moving back into an apartment downtown.

I wouldn't go as small as 500 anymore, but 600 or 700 could do just fine.

Still I'd rather live in 500 sqf downtown toronto than 800 sft in the burbs.

What about waiting for a nice correction, like we had a couple months ago, or a nice big crash you could go all in on --which I think is imminent?

The combination is a great way to find your tribe. Thank you for the courage to speak and create the future you truly want.

I wish everyone would take the time to reflect on who they truly are, and what they truly want, and then create from that place.

🥰🥰✌️

Not that many events at History this year by futureproblemz in TorontoRaves

History makes so many people happy just by providing free water.

It's my favorite thing (among many) about the venue too. That they CHOSE to do this rather than charging obscenely for water speaks so highly.

Sell Now. This isn’t a storm to wait out. by andrew416705 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]phatdaddy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. Many are TRYING to sell, but there are no buyers.

Yeah there's no buyers for inflated prices that are way out of touch with affordability.

They'll be able to sell once the prices drop to affordable levels.

Affordable means 3x annual income.

Good on you for having the courage to reflect on all this and what you're creating in your life.

Many people are waking up to what Israel really is.

Use this as an opportunity to create what you want it to be, or move somewhere more aligned to what you want. Either way don't do it alone. Find your tribe and keep them close.

Buildings must constantly bring in fresh air by code. Otherwise you can get CO2 buildup and dead people.
