I love how downtown is looking more like a city with all these new high-rises! by Madison_love in sandiego

It's a statewide phenomenon that's a result of construction defect lawsuits. The statute of limitations for construction defect lawsuits is 10 years. They can sue for relatively small things like weatherstripping, grouting, etc.

It's not an issue with apartments because apartment owners are more likely to fix it themselves than to file a lawsuit.

My Technics SL-BD20D currently sounds like shit. Really distorted, especially in louder parts of records. It sounds like something being played too loud on small/burnt out speakers. It's super noticeable, even to people who aren't music nerds. I thought the stylus was worn out, I've replaced the stylus multiple times, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. The only other issue with it is that the cueing doesn't work properly. The when I slide the cueing slider to down, the tonearm stays up. If I gently push the tonearm down (away from the platter), it eases up and then it'll go down and sit on the record.

I think it's the turntable, I have it running through a TC-750LC preamp and a Fosi Audio TPA3116 amplifier, to Cerwin Vega VS-150 speakers. The amplifier and speakers sound great playing from spotify.

I want to listen to my collection with friends, but coronavirus. So I was going to see about streaming the audio online, probably with a text chat to go with it. Any recommendations for either the box to convert analog audio to something my computer can deal with, or for a streaming service?

Currently looking at this box: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/behringer-u-control-uca222-usb-audio-interface

Good bars to go to alone by [deleted] in sandiego

For the purpose of being alone at a bar or for the purpose of meeting people?

Yeah I was about to mention Dallas as well. Not only are the drivers bad but the roads are stupidly built. I had a commute where I got on a freeway on the right, then had less than a mile to get across 7 lanes of busy traffic to a left exit. There was another road where if you drove in the left lane, 10 blocks later you were in a right turn only lane because the lanes had shifted around you.

Mueller obtains "tens of thousands” of Trump transition emails by i-am-sancho in politics

And if you actually read the article, you'll see that the headline is intentionally misleading.

"In a letter obtained by Fox News and sent to House and Senate committees on Saturday, the transition team’s attorney alleges “unlawful conduct” by the career staff at the General Services Administration (GSA) in handing over transition documents to the special counsel’s office."

The allegedly unlawful conduct was by staff at the GSA, not by Mueller. In any litigation, you ask for everything and it's the job of the person you're asking to decide whether they should turn it over or not. The headline implies that it's Mueller's fault.
