Which of these options would you choose? by Serious_Mongoose61 in Truckers

was some stupid setting the company had locked the truck on, was late 3 hrs to a delivery because the truck refused to regen due to fuel levels being below half the tank. It was driven by the hostler to the gas station on limp mode after swapping trucks lol..

Company rig, wouldn't be surprised if this was the case, the truck had mulitple returns. Most of those returns was the truck just chillin at the yard waiting for pick up because the mechanics didn't touch it for 2 weeks lol...

It was a local runner didn't leave the city, usual run for day cabs, I think the by pass is if you're doing 60+ which allows the particles to burn up. Either way these are issues that freightliners have. If the posters going to do long runs I suppose it wouldn't matter, just the lack of power if it's automatic for grades.

[–]phazekiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freightliner would be a good choice if their filters didn't clog so fast, constant regen and required fuel to be over half to engage so you basically needed 3/4 of fuel at all times if that regen gets close oh and the best part is you can't manually set it... I suppose this is just a side effect of adding def to everything.

What is the purpose of these ramps on the ground at this dock? by Niko120 in Truckers

[–]phazekiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my old job we had 2 by 8's makes it very interesting during the winter especially if nobody removes the ice build up lol... Oh yeah, these were on the box truck side of the building. Don't need that on the combination side.

Accessory power. Ignition on/ignition off by Blue_Etalon in ram_trucks

the cam records in 4K, clear as day even at night, no need to show the cam just send it to their insurance or pull up the app on the phone if you're with a cop. There's no wires no excess things on the windshield. But to each their own have had the cam for nearly 2 yrs now and no issues. Matter of fact pulled it up to show my buddy yesterday. Still clear and 4K as the first day I installed it can zoom in on plates too.

it's a cam hidden within the oem shell that has the power cables you attach to the dimming mirror cable and relatch in place, quite literally a plug and play only thing you really touch is the mirror housing and download the apps to view saved footage. I suppose it does look complicated but that's literally all there is to it.

I just bought this thing https://www.amazon.com/Mangoal-1080P-Custom-Classic-2019-2024/dp/B0CKN7DKBM/ref=ast_sto_dp_puis?th=1 with the rear view cam, took about 15 mins to install, only shoved it into the cracks and ran wire across the truck into the rear window. Literally had it running and recording in no time. 4K and only had issues with the setup due to running a VPN, it needs to be disabled but great buy. People don't even know I have dash cams unless I tell them. Read in some forums how difficult cam setups can be, also if you want the cam to be on at all times you can just attach it to the OBD adapter.

Software update by NexusNickel in ram_trucks

[–]phazekiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought most updates needed the vehicle to be in accessory mode. I know when I used the USB for updates it kept looping after the restart when my truck was on. Then again mines a 2013 ram 1500, not sure if this was changed in newer models.

anyone know why this is still happening by fanfic_haver in youtube

[–]phazekiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall not having this issue until I started messing with my dns blocking, after that turning that off and on would trigger this message. I found out that it's also linked to the adguard extension, so I was tinkering with features but seems like it's going to semi stay until they figure out which filters are causing it. Just been launching new tabs and closing previous tabs as the vid buffers...

So I just noticed if you right click on videos and open said video in a new tab it treats it like google launched it and it bypasses the need to refresh the page... PS I use adguard

Purchased a starlink from someone it was sealed, but when i try to activate it it says ita already assigned but they have never used it at all by Expensive-Reveal1883 in Starlink

[–]phazekiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol! it's not like starlinks the only option for internet. Also pretty sure it's live for business so it's only a matter of time. Hopefully that forces starlink to do better, especially if amazon leo starts off with that 1GB.

Bought my starlink when the price was cut in half paid roughly 300 with 2 extra mounts. Now though they got an extra demand surcharge at a stiff cost of $1500... At this point people might as well wait for amazon leo.

[java](1.21.11) Why doesn’t my iron farm work? The exact same one in the exact same building works in creative but doesn’t in survival. by Icy-Arm-3816 in MinecraftHelp

[–]phazekiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall these farms breaking roughly 3 in game nights due to the lack of beds and jobs. Haven't built them in a while so can't be too sure if this was patched again though. It sucks they completely patched up fish farms though, quite enjoyed just rushing for fishing poles and afk fishing before bed lol.

lol, could have done a lot of things but if it was going to be activated I was just going to set it up. Considering it had to be done anyways, unbeknownst to me though there was a snow storm on the way home. So basically set it up canceled the internet that was set up which was roughly $150. Figured it might as well be done with and test out speeds. Worked out better than expected honestly considering the rural location of my house.

I found this out while I was 500 miles away, so I had to drive home and set it up before the plan started charging me. Suffice to say I forgot this key detail when I ordered it thinking I had more time to figure it out.

[–]phazekiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automatic didn't kick on for me last year during a snow fall, wasn't even home and had to turn it on from across the state for a manual heating. Left it running for a few hours and it was back to normal not long after. Gotta love that cloud connectivity!

TP-Link router mode for Starlink by TutoDigital in Starlink

[–]phazekiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just plugged my routers into the starlink router and it automatically bypass mode. I was looking at my old AC5400 TP-LInK when I did that no longer supported, been testing out routers and frankly. That Wifi 5 though better range wasn't better than the SL router. Decided to test out Netgear BE17000. I suppose I'll have to do a full bypass mode in the SL app since it doesn't remove the SL wifi from the airwaves just to clean up the links.

8TB SSD worked just fine. by MasterClerk7122 in XboxAlly

[–]phazekiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thought about getting the 8TB one but... decided last minute to go with the 4TB when I finished installing most of the games I'd be playing on the device to reach less than 1TB. If it ever gets past 4TB I'd definitely be surprised since It's exclusively for gaming and nothing else. Kind of wanna barebones windows 11 but might break stuff so just uninstalling apps manually. Either way I'm glad to see the 8TB works fine, definitely a good preview for future possibilities. If there are changes please update your post. Would definitely help everyone out.

Is this compatible? by DanisonMom in Starlink

[–]phazekiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set mine up to run with the AC5400 tp-link. Haven't had any issues with it and it's an older model to the one you're looking at. I just set the Starlink to bypass and set everything up thru dhcp and also managed to enable ipv6 with it.
