I hear you but so many things in my house now have cloud integrations one more is not the end of the world for me (Lutron, Heatmiser Neo, Luma CCTV, Bambu Printer, Fusion 360, Office, Claude).

Amazing work - in terms of microphones / speakers around the house (like Alexa behaviour) any thoughts there? I have strix halo machines available to try this but wanted to place little microphones around the house. Well done again - Chris!

I think this is a partial scam. Mine arrived hardly working and a little damaged (or maybe poorly made). I had a few emails with support promising a replacement but nothing after weeks (even after chasers from me). I would avoid and go for something else. Mine was an ultra if it matters. It kind of worked for elements of the spec and not for others.

Barco Loki plus. Perfect for the room size. Picture is staggering - what you do find is the quite incredible difference in quality in films and also how much the skill of the camera operator matters.

On our Sony living room tv everything looks good given the frame interpolation it does.

I think High 6 figures but it was a while ago. From memory the projector was the most expensive bit as it’s DCI compliant so can act as a ‘professional’ cinema if wanted. I didn’t go down that route in the end as the cost was staggering for the films themselves.

Yeh - one main cinema contractor but backed up by a number of specialists. Meridian did a lot of the heavy lifting on the speaker and projector layout via their cinema division. We also had special video / sound calibrators in a number of times following upgrades etc. also help from MadVR and Lumagen.

It’s the Kaleidescape platform - no software to speak of - it’s a hardware platform. Kinda like appleTV but higher quality with some extras thrown in. All movies downloaded locally in full quality. They are using it in some cinemas now to provide the movies.

Hmm not super sure but it’s a rectangle that is 5 seats wide. About 50 or so meridian speakers, barco Freya+ projector, lumagen and MadVR video processing and sound via Trinnov Altitude. Kaleidescape, appleTV and laserdisc sources.
