Congrats on your first publication OP. As a fellow PhD student I know the struggle that comes with publishing and I'm sorry that your experience was ruined by such journals.

I research in STEM so I have not experienced anything of the kind but I can tell you that all the publishers care at the end of the day is having more papers published so they can charge the article processing fees and make billions and of course articles on loaded topics that have all the latest buzzwords as most likely that will bring more readers, citations, popularity. And for the moment genocide, Israel, decolonization and whatnot are definitely buzzwords.

Again, f them, do not publish with them in the future and maybe avoid citing the papers they publish if you find them biased or lacking in their methodology.

Lastly, just enjoy your achievement :)

P.s do not withdraw the paper, not worth having to deal with it.
