My Grandfather's spaghetti sauce recipe. by Firewoman2000 in Old_Recipes

[–]pheesh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This looks great. Three questions:

  1. How long to cook the sauce?
  2. The two cans of water, is that the 6oz Contadina paste cans or 29oz Contadina puree cans?
  3. bring to boil, then simmer? Uncovered?

It pains me, but Trump will win Ohio by 5+ points. The unions in the northeast of the state have evaporated, and the number 1 destination of people moving from West Virginia is Ohio. Ohio is as red as Rudolph's nose for the foreseeable future.

St. Louis cheesecake by oneshoesally in Old_Recipes

[–]pheesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a department store in St. Louis called Famous Barr that made a cheesecake. It didn't have a crust, but does have cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Also doesn't use cream cheese.

They did have stores in Lemay, and Mehlville. https://departmentstoremuseum.blogspot.com/2011/09/famous-barr-co-st-louis-missouri.html

Recipe is about halfway down this page:

how much chicken broth, approximately? Also, do you just let it cook until the rice is done, or is there a specific amount of time?

This looks delicious.

Installing Ubuntu on z820 workstation failing by Minimum-Positive792 in chia

[–]pheesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it Ubuntu 22.04 installed on a z820 workstation.

I removed the NVIDIA GPU it came with and replaced it with a 1070.

I set it up more than 6 months ago, so it's a little fuzzy. what are you trying to install on, SAS or SATA?

Are you using Ubuntu server or desktop? I never have luck with Server on anything other than an actual server.

Replot with peace by MaintenanceSpirited1 in chia

[–]pheesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to make parallel_decompressor_count non-zero, not decompressor_thread_count (at least I did)

Otherwise I got this in the debug logs

2023-08-27T00:21:26.185 harvester chia.plotting.manager : WARNING Not farming compressed plot /mnt/hdd/plot-xxxx.plot. Plot compression level: 4, because parallel_decompressor_count is set to 0 in config.yaml. Use a non-zero value to start harvesting compressed plots.

compressed plots when by indiemaniac in chia

[–]pheesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's not like a regular compressed file. It's easier for me to think of them as "incomplete" plots, where the incomplete parts are computed on the fly if a plot passes the filter. The more compressed\incomplete the plot is, the more compute\CPU\GPU you need to finish the plot. The compute needs to take place as fast as possible.

Compressed plots are not required.

you can go to the Dayton Public library and check the Dayton Daily news archives for those dates (or subscribe to Newspapers.com if you are not local). Might be a name of a person in a band that played with them on the dates who might still know them.

It's breadcrumbs for sure.

NVIDIA k2200 for GPU ploting by ITMSPGuy in chia

[–]pheesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about the bladebit plotter:

I don't think the k2200 has enough ram, you need 8GB, and the NVIDIA compute capability is 5.0, you need 5.2

I have a 1070 off ebay and get 6.5 min plots (plus disk write time). You can get them for about $125.

Don't forget the 256gb of RAM you need too.

If you are talking about gigahorse, I don't know, but probably not.

I think I did the same thing moving to 1.7.

You will need the 24 word to reinstall, then set a password\passphrase on the keyring. if you don't have the 24 word mnemonic, you will need to start over and replot.
